    I thought when someone was banned their server address was also banned so they couldn't just sign on with a new moniker like this guy.

    hard to do that with dynamic IP addresses...they change everytime you log on(with dialup)...

    You can get blocked, then you can get banned.

    Blocked is the first step to being permanently out the door. You can be blocked and still sign on with another account.

    When your IP is banned, you are permanently banned (on dialup at least). If you have cable for instance, the IP changes, and cookies can be deleted, thus allowing another account.

    Complicated, but not really. It's like that on every board.

    you have it backward....yes, cable IPs change from time to time..Mine just changed recently after 4 months at the same IP...

    on Dialup...your IP is different EVERY TIME you dial in..
    I'm a network guy...trust me on this..;)

    AFAIK...the way you get banned here is by not allowing you to use the same email address to register with if you have been banned using an account registered with that email account.
