    According to today's ESPN Insider....

Hmmm...very interesting, if Dixon is to be traded, the Rockets would be the likely location, as Francis will probably want the fellow Terp, and he would be a very good backup (better than Moochie). Hes young, and since hes expendable it will probably cost us a second round pick and maybe a lesser player??

How about Blake? I enjoyed watching his game the last couple of years. But I wonder if the whole concept of a true point guard is passe in the NBA--it certainly seems to be for the Rox.

We need an experienced backup PG, so Dixon is not a good fit.

Dixon could go to any team in the league. The fact that he's a former terp won't make us an automatic favorite or much, if any, more likely to get him.

Francis doesn't have as much pull anymore.

I don't know how much I'd mind Larry Hughes playing the 2. he has a very reasonable contract, much like Cat's.

However, his shooting horrendous. What intruiges me about him is that he's spent 2 seasons playing PG, so if we move him back to the 2, he'll be somewhat of a passing SG that Cat couldn't be? Has he improved from playing with MJ?

    It's fun to think about.

Juan Dixon is a winner. He's not extraordinarily quick, but he gets the job done and has a good work ethic. I'd like to have him on our squad.

I think he'd be a very good pickup. His shooting has improved drastically in the last year. To the point where he's shot better from the field and 3pt land than Cat did last year. Plus, he's 3 years younger than Mobley and it is possible he could keep improving. The bigger question is, if the Rockets chose to go after him, what would the Wizards want in return. They have a glut of swingmen, so Mobley probably isn't a huge draw pick up. They need a bonafide small forward, but so do the Rockets. I'm not sure I see a deal that could work for both teams.

I disagree about them needing a bonafide Small Forward because they've got Jared Jeffries and Jarvis Hayes to man that position. I dont' think Jeffries is a power forward for any more than 5-10 minutes a game, if that.

Hayes is a rookie, so I'd assume they'd be hesitant to throw him right into the fire of a starting position. He's also somewhat undersized for the 3, which may or may not come to haunt him on the defensive end. It's all really theory until he plays in at least the pre-season.

As for Jeffries, I'm more and more convinced he's really a power forward, at least in the east. He's not particularly fleet of foot, and after a knee injury, it's anyone's guess whether or not he's lost a bit of his quickness. He's supposedly put on weight as well from what the local media has said (more muscle than fat) so I think he may end up turning into a skilled perimeter PF.

The Wizards have good potential at those two spots, but like the Rockets I doubt they'd ignore the inexperience they have when looking at potential trades. In reality that's the only position they'd be looking to make an upgrade though. The rockets don't have any guards or centers that would match up well in trade.

From what I've seen of Hughes as a DC native, I do think he'd fit in well as a Rocket though.

The last thing we need is another short guard in the back-court.

Imagine Dixon and Moochie at the same time. That's called "very small ball!"

I wonder if the folks who favor Dixon ever watched Dixon playing in Wizzards before or not, the one word can describe his play: AWFUL. He can't handle the ball, and he can't shoot from NBA 3 point line, and most important, he can't defense (well, only thing he can do is gambling and try to steal the ball, that's not going to happen at NBA level).

I'd say he is excellent college basketball player, but a lot of works need to do in NBA.

    THE MORE TERPS THE BETTER!

Juan Dixon, Steve Blake and Lonny Baxter will make great additions.

Bring back Terrance Morris, Tony Massenberg, and Walt Williams.

Are the Wizards looking for a PF maybe? MoT and Mooch for Larry Hughes and Jahidi White?

I don't know if that soves any problems for us though. I'm still skeptical of Hughes.

Larry Hughes is a terrible defender and a career 23% 3 point shooter. At his salary, he won't help the Rockets.

I'm a big fan of Juan Dixon's game. If we can pick him up for a reasonable price, he would only help our ball club.

Juan plays with heart which is sometimes lacking from our squad

Our problem is not so much lack of heart (although some of our players need to be checked for a pulse). Our big problem is lack of head (I bet 50 to 1 that folks won't be able to resist making a "head" joke).

Joke1: Patrick Ewing is the perfect assistant coach for this team because he will teach us how to get head.

Darn staight!! Don't forget about Chris Wilcox and Joe Smith! Would it be to far of a stretch to grab Obina Ekezie, Laron Profit, and Keith Booth too :)
