LMA is a pretty awful fit here, the thing he likes doing the most on offense is something the Rockets try to avoid doing.....and he isn't particularly efficient at it overall. He's also about to turn 30, so this move would be narrowing a possible championship window for the team. Also, I think there's a pretty solid chance that the guys we have could be better than LMA in 4 years so I'd be pretty disappointed if we made a move for him.

Neither Terrence Jones or DMo is going to be a top 15 player. Let's just end that discussion right there.

Regarding Aldridge's fit, we only need to look at how Josh Smith has made it work despite his completely opposite play in Detroit. Many of LMA's long twos, which are coming due to Stott's system, will turn into threes in Houston. His efficiency already got a small bump from taking a couple more threes per game this year. In Houston's system, he'll be much more efficient. Due to his ability to space the floor, everyone on the team will be that much more efficient as well.

Nice work. However, I'll stand by my comment that it'll be tough to get him. Dallas and San Antonio can do the same things you propose Houston can do, plus they'd have additional space. Star players rarely take significantly less money on the front end.

As an Aldridge fan (and Longhorn alum), I'd be ecstatic to get LaMarcus. But I wouldn't hold my breath on that happening.

So who gets more $$$ in free agency? LMA or KLove?

Is a "one and one" contract possible with a sign and trade?

LMA is a midrange shooter, so he might not fit into Morey's plans

No. All sign-and-trade deals must be at least three years long (although only the first year needs to be guaranteed).

Pau Gasol is a midrange shooter too, but was supposed to be our cornerstone. Aldridge has added a three point shot to his repertoire this year.

We already have one, his name is James Harden

Id trade Jones, DMo & anybody not named Harden to get Aldridge. Aldridge is that 3rd star Morey should be throwing the house at

Anybody else remember Scola's automatic mid range jumper that got us started every game? I loved that shot.

Harden pick & roll, kick out to Aldridge at the top of the key.

Howard doubled in the post, kick the ball to Aldridge at the top of the key.

Harden on the bench, or having a off night and nobody is creating on offense? Give it to Aldridge in the high post and let him go to work.

We would be monsters with Aldridge, Harden and Howard.

I know our offense doesn't have the mid range jumper in it, but if we get an elite mid range and high post player like Aldridge, you reshape the offense for him.

Morey offered Dirk a max contract last offseason, your telling me we wouldn't have allowed Dirk to take mid range shots? Hell no, we would have integrated his game into our system, same as we would do with Aldridge.

So cap space is the only real route here. The paycut would be way too big with a sign and trade, long term.

I just don't know why he would want to go to dallas.

Leave a team who can give you more money to go to a worst team for less money? if he is leaving to take less money you would think he wanted a championship. Dallas is not that place Right now.

Should we trade for LMA? His stock is at an all time low and the amount of hate he's getting is somewhat unwarranted imo. I also think he's been injured and should be a lot better next year.

Both he and the Spurs both look like they want to move on and for the right price I think it would be an excellent trade.

abso-****in-lutely not unless he gives me half of his salary while he's on this team

not many things worse than watching a 7 foot 260lb big shoot turnaround fadeaways and underhand scoop shots against a 6'7 230lb small forward

if pop doesnt trade this mug then thats one less team rockets have to worry about

I don't get why people act as if Lamarcus is good enough to beat an all-time great Warriors team with 4 superstars and 2 MVPs by himself?

And he's being guarded by Draymond probably the best defender in the league while also being doubled routinely. I'm not defending his play but let's not act like he's a scrub.

They're already thin up front and likely to lose Dedmon, so unless they can secure a commitment from one of Blake or Millsap, I just don't see it happening. Not to mention, it would be an intradivision deal, so it'd be really difficult to piece together.
