His route tree were pretty basic in college and he'll need to develop that before making an instant impact. I love his physical talent and instincts. I'm not selling this guy too high or too low. He's a huge bodied receiver who began his football career late. I predict it'll take time for him to become a major impact on the field but I have no doubt it will come. He's no Devier Posey.
A lot of talking heads projected him as a late first rounder. He's good enough to be our week one starter with shorts and D. Johnson alternating in the slot
Still guys on the board that I like wish we had some more picks. Derron smith fs Davis hull lb Jamison crowder receiver Ty Montgomery receiver Shipley receiver
Grayson and Manion go before Petty or Hundley. I remember people trying to tell me Hundley would've been a first rounder last year when I said he wouldn't. I thought he was a 2nd rounder at best. He went back to school and still didn't improve his stock. May not even go in day 2 this year though there are 9 picks left.
Guilty. I was saying he could be the best quarterback in this draft even a couple months ago. I still think he and Petty are steals in the fourth or fifth rounds based on potential alone. A team like Buffalo should be all over someone like Petty tomorrow.
4th is an appropriate place to take them I think, just like I think the 4th was an appropriate spot to take Savage last year. A little surprised that Grayson and Mannion (moreso the latter) went in the 3rd though.
I figured Grayson would but not Marion. The thing I love about this draft are the calculated trade ups. We have three players from last year's draft that hardly played, if at all. All three could potentially be big contributors this year, though it'll most likely be two (I'm talking about the Polish Hat, Clowney, and Nix... But not expecting anything from Nix). Because of that, why not go after some high upside guys that are high on your board. Now, you've potentially got six splash guys coming into a 9 win team. That's excluding any potential gems we find tomorrow. I couldn't be more thrilled with this group of coaches. They know what they're doing.
Was initially upset that we hadn't targeted any depth for the offense, but after the Strong selection I'm fairly pleased with the draft thus far. I still don't think CB was a need and would have preferred OL, maybe even RB, in RD1, but Kevin Johnson provides some flexibility in how we move forward with the secondary. Although we grabbed Strong, I'd LOVE to get Crowder if he's still available in later rounds. He would be a great KR, and could hopefully fill the role that Posey was supposed to hold.
I liked that they were aggressive and got to have their choice of players before there was a run. Also don't think it was a coincidence that McKinney's and Strong's coaches both tweeted that they were the hardest workers on their respective teams.
