it's about 10 minutes away. Since there are so many questions about the rockets, with Yao's injury, James Posey and etc... this might be a good time to flood the chat with questions dealing with these topics.
there will be a lot of questions about Kobe and the 2 big trades that have happened, so it's important to keep posting your rocket questions.
looks like this is all he is going to say Lee (Moscow, TN): The only news the Grizzlies have made all summer has been signing James Posey. Thats just compounding the logjam at forward even more. Whats Jerry West's master plan? Marc Stein: (2:41 PM ET ) The Grizz tried hard to get a center and couldn't. I thought they had a fair shot at Olowokandi in a sign-and-trade with the Clips but the Clips weren't interested. The offer to Posey might be rich enough to convince Houston to let him go, at which point the Rockets would figure to step up their efforts to sign Eric Piatkowski.
I still don't see what the Grizzlies are doing going after Posey? They already have their 1st round pick in Jones, Miller, Battier, Dickerson, Person and potentially Posey at the 2/3 positions? Miller is clearly the starter at the 3 spot. And Person or Battier is probably the starting 2. So is Posey going there as a backup? Odd.
So Jerry's West plan was to get a center but since he couldnt do that he signed a SF / SG. I have to give West more credit and Marc Stein doesn't even answer the problem of a logjam at forward. Good technique to answer another question when asked something else. Give me DA or Ric Bucher over Stein anyday.
Maybe they want to sign posey and then package one or two of their other players such as Miller, Person. Battier etc.. to go after a center.

Maybe we can pull Rice/Cato for Person/Battier/Lorenzen Wright. Yeah, I know I'm just dreaming, but I seem to remember that West didn't like Battier, but I still don't think we could pull this off.
