I know there's a butterfly effect to these sort of things but, can you imagine the misery right now if things had gone the way we wanted last summer? Kind of happy they didn't! This was almost our team: Beverley - Out for season (wrist) Harden Parsons - Out for season (knee) Bosh - Out for season (blood clots) Howard - missed 41 Games DMo - out for season
this makes no sense. you can't say all of those players would have gotten injured if on different teams. where's the logic.....................
Not only that but these have all been pointed out several times. Just feel like OP is selling these thoughts as his own
I don't think it's as fallacious as some would say. Specific injuries from specific events may not have occurred (like Beverley's wrist injury, I suppose), but injuries resulting from long-term wear or other ongoing health issues probably would have regardless. Chris Bosh would have had blood clot issues no matter what team he played for. Howard might have missed fewer or more games, but he definitely would have missed games with the known chronic problems he has (of course, Howard is looking good right now, so that one isn't hurting us in the playoffs).
Morey actually mentioned that deal on the radio yesterday and said he could map out an entire argument as to why that trade would have worked really well for the Rockets.
Gasol is a monster. Still. He and Nene would work well together imo and it's also not impossible that we would still have Harden.
I know we're talking about trades and signings and such, but I have different perspective. Believe it or not, I think things went the best way they could have for this team this year. The injuries forced James to become a leader. The injuries forced us to strengthen our bench and, boy, did we ever. The injuries made so many different lineups have to learn how to play with each other that I think it really brought of lot flexible skill to the younger players. And now, with Dwight back, we see how utterly dominating he actually is. So, we ended up with a hardier team, and now we have our second hammer back as well. It's weird how things work out. Hopefully, that leads to continued success in the playoffs.
You are just guessing about Bosh. As for Howard, he hurt his right knee on Nov 2, while playing with an injured left knee. There is no guarantee that any of that happens under different circumstance.
The only one on that list that have happened regardless of location is Bosh. His condition appeared to be just a matter of time where as the others were all physical injuries which are much more random.
