Has anyone else noticed that when you go to ESPN.com it is butt slow these days? I am on a T1 at work and Cable modem at home and loading up ESPN is like being on dialup all over again. Anyone else experiencing this? DD
Yeah its that stupid ESPN Motion crap they are trying to get people to download..... That and I always get an ORBITZ pop-up whenever Im on espn.com. Takes a while to get the front page loaded.
Yep. I thought it was because I loaded the 'google' pop up stopper tool bar, but no other sites have been giving me problems. It works fine from work because I don't have flash 5 loaded so I can't "enjoy the full espn.com experience".
I use yahoo sports almost exclusively now. I can't stand how long things take to load on the ESPN website. I have a cable modem, too.
Next to my roommates sleeping noises, this has been the biggest annoyance for me lately. I got a pop up to do a consumer survey for their website and I let them have it. I'm tired of the animated pop ups that are part transparent making it hard to see where the X is because it is surrounded by text. Also, they have an advertisement at the top of the page sometimes that pushes the rest of the page down off screen, I hate that.
I haven't noticed that one in a few days, but that really bugged the **** out of me. I'd go to click on something, then all of the sudden, the page started moving up. Ugh.
I've definitely noticed that ESPN is slow to load. I tought it was my switch from DSL to Cable that was the problem. However, that doesn't explain CC being slow to load also. Hmmmm.
ESPN always slow for me at home... still using dial-up there but with cable at work... it does loaded up a bit faster... but I see what you guys are saying... it does looked kind of slow lately... maybe due to the amount of traffic entering the site...
i totally agree that it has been really slow. i am on a t3 at school and it is still slow to load b/c of all the damn graphics and espn motion. espn has always been the site i have gone to for quick sports news, but sometimes i find myself going to cnnsi now just to get some quick news without all the extra crap. i think espn is just trying to do too much with their site.
I have cable and have noticed that ESPN is slower the honey. Do not have that trouble anywhere else. For a pop-up stopper I installed FREE SURFER abiut 9 months ago and I surf alot and it has stopped about 99% of pop-ups. It is a free program.
Try http://lite.espn.go.com/ and uninstalling flash. It does wonders for my main computer, a 200mhz laptop.
