    The only way to ensure you're not a target of the RIAA is to disable your P2P software's ability to trade files, or get rid of the software altogether.

    All you have to do is download your damn songs - they will go in your shared folder.

    Move all of your songs from your shared folder on to your hard drive (no one can access them) and you will be fine.

    And yes use Kazaa Lite!!

    I've mentioned this before: couldn't RIAA set up a fake account on Kazaa, Kazaa Lite or whatever and catch people downloading from them?

    Isnt it Kazaalite improve or something like that when you register with Kazaa?I think you can check by going to options on Kazaalite.

    I use the newest version, K++, which has a different user name.

    But yes, that is the default username for older versions of kazaa, which thousands, tens of thousands, or hundreds of thousands of people have.

    People, come on. If you don't want to deal with RIAA, then, don't use any P2P software, or don't listen to any music.

    Or just download obscure stuff like western soundtracks and stay away from the popular tunes.

    Great I think it was mine too I must have had an older version.... :( I just downloaded Kazaa Lite about a month ago, and maybe downloaded 25 or so songs - none of which I shared. $12,000 is a huge chunk of change.
