    chill dude you know what groupthink or hive mind is right? theres a lot of respected posters on here but a lot more armchair basketball players who think they know how to judge a coach. people in garm dont like mchale and anyone who thinks different is outkast

    Most coaches are criticized by their fans because they scrutinize their team's every move.

    For fans of other teams, they just look at the overall results. It's hard to argue against McHale's overall results this season. If CF were not Rockets fans, we would definitely mention McHale as COY candidate.

    Nobody should be denigrating McHale today. It's time to come together and support the team come hell or high water. I hope he coaches his ass off tonight. Go Rockets!

    If harden is looking for fan support to help bring up his confidence, clutchfans is not the place to go... It's kinda sad

    Only the absolutely most biased anti McHale fan would not consider McHale a very serious candidate for COY. If any other coach in the league managed to lead his team to 2nd in the West (some say is the toughest its ever been) with all of the injuries he would be the front runner for coach of the year.

    Personally I have Steve Kerr as COY but McHale is easily 2nd IMO.

    Those who don't think for themselves but play to the safety and popularity of the herd and group think will be out with the next loss in their Official Fire Mchale or one of their dozen other Fire McHale threads.

    I would disagree that he's COY.

    BUT - he's definitely flirting with top 10 current coach status, which is more credit than the average forum poster would give him.

    Mchale has made plenty of blunders throughout the season. All this "of the moment" sentiments are truly disingenuous.

    McHale would be a great assistant coach, someone the players can bond with and look up to. But coach of the year should go to the Atlanta Hawks coach. Just my opinion.
