I like Clarkson. Think he can be a good off the bench energy guy. As a starter? I don't think so, but he could prove me wrong.
On another note, Tarik Black pulled down 19 rebs and had 10pts vs tyson chandler yesterday. Avg 11.8 and 9.8 rebs over the last 5 games. Why couldn't we have dropped dorsey or someone else instead of this guy? He would be helping us so much right now.
Shved, Casspi, Black, Covington, and Caanan are all putting up big numbers. All their teams are currently bottom dwelling lottery teams, coincidence?
I think he can be a good player, but nothing like the numbers indicate. They haven't been playing their top FGA per 100 POS players like Hill, Boozer and Young as much as they did earlier in the season so he's been stat stuffing on an already bad team. In the 37 games since 1/23 that Clarkson started the Lakers have a OffRtg of 99.7, Defrtg 107.2 and NetRtg of -7.5. Clarkson during that time has an OffRtg of 99.6, DefRtg of 109.6 and NetRtg of -10.0
Yes, especially if the player can be recruited for the national team. Of course he also already did a Filipino heritage night. Even Nate Robinson got media attention for supposedly being part Filipino from his "great-great-grandfather".
He was considered at least a late first round pick but his play dropped off after news that his dad had cancer. http://www.latimes.com/sports/lakers/la-sp-lakers-jordan-clarkson-20150104-story.html
There's another guy in the D-League trying to get a call-up, who also happens to have a Filipino mother. Spoiler
Fair enough haha. But still.. Wouldn't you rather have black than Dorsey during that stretch Howard was out?
He's a little taller version of Chauncey Billups. Shoot first, pass second. Above average defense. I dont think he's the leader that Chauncey is but his game is very similar to him
