Rockets send Mo Taylor and Cuttino Mobley to Philadelphia. Sixers send Keith Van Horn to New York Knicks send Latrell Sprewell to Houston Rationales: Knicks want KVH. Rockets replace Mobley's scoring about evenly with that of Sprewell, and get rid of Mo Taylor's hefty contract in the process. Sixers get another scorer and a backup PF. According to Real GM, the trade works under the cap.
Why are we trying to trade our team away to save money ala Donald Stirling. With a new arena and luxury tax coming to us, maybe, why are we trying to save money ?
Tell them to give us Kurt Thomas if we add Moochie or a 1st round draft pick. If we gave up Mobley and Taylor for Sprewell...we would only have 1 power forward...named Eddie Griffin...who is not a powerful power forward. I'd like Kurt Thomas though. Sprewell is all right...pretty old. When does his contract expire? But remember! This will never happen! So forget about it...I like Mobley better anyways.
why would philadelphia want Cat anyway? Mo I might be able to see, since they might lose Coleman to free agency, but the only rationale I can think of for Cat is that he's a Philadelphia native. I doubt that plays to the Sixers that much. Think about it. They've already got Snow and Iverson in the backcourt. Since he's a terrible passer (because he doesn't do it enough) Cat could only backup Iverson, who's the league leader in minutes per game, I think. Add to that the fact that none of those three are tall enough to play the 3. Are they supposed to let Mobley play the 2 and put Iverson at the point when Snow sits? I doubt that's what they're thinking. Snow took the point guard duties off Iverson, which helped AI to focus on scoring more. Oh yeah, I don't think Van Horn makes enough money to be involved here. Correct me if i'm wrong, but Mo and Cat combined are at least $10 million (?) or so. I doubt anyone was stupid enough to pay Van Horn a $10 million/year contract. this has to be a mistake on RealGM if this trade works.
Because Mobley is arguably our most tradeable assett. He's a solid NBA starter with a cap-freindly contract. Those aren't a dime-a-dozen. Of course that is exactly why we should keep him. j
Who didn't get the memo? I don't think Sprewell is an upgrade over Mobley at this point in his career, and aside from that, we'd be losing MoT. KT would REALLY hate to see MoT taking his spot again.
Why didnt you just leave this thread off the 1st page where it belonged? No reason to bump it up just to say it should be locked.
Good idea. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go find that thread about the Rockets hiring Larry Brown and suggest that someone lock it up too. I think it's on page 46. Be right back.
