Hey guys, is there a possibility that we can get this guy especially now there is a rumored 3-way trade sending Spree to Spurs, Rose to Philly and Van horn to NYK ?

I personally don't like Stephen Jackson's game (think it's much overrated) and think that he's too similar to Cat and Franchise to be a really good addition. However, he was showing signs of becoming a dependable 3ball shooter. If that progress continues, I'd like him on the team so whenever Yao gets doubled down low, SJack could make them pay.

I'm not a fan of Stephen Jackson. He can sink some clutch threes, and he posts up when the spirit moves him, but he makes so many stupid decisions... And that mouthguard irritates me.

Jackson's a product of the SA offense; while he wouldn't be worthless on another squad, he wouldn't be worth near as much as he is to the Spurs.

Stephen Jackson made the Rockets look bad in the 2 games I saw him play in SA v. the Rox last year. He played great D and pretty much scored at will. I went to one game during the preseason (yao's first game with the rox) with a basketball junkie friend of mine and one game with about 10 basketball junkies, all of whom were very impressed with Jackson. I also live in Austin, so I watch more SA basketball more than I would really prefer, but he doesn't seem to have any glaring weaknesses to me.

I hope the Rockets can sign Posey, but if not, Jackson would be a great addition to the team. I see him more as a 2 than a 3 even though he's 6'7 or 6'8. He's a decent shooter, a decent 3 point shooter, and he plays with a lot more intensity than most of the Rockets. He's also a very hard worker. Not many people have had as difficult a path as Jackson has to get where he is today. It also couldn't hurt to have some championship playoff experience in the locker room.

He turned the ball over so many times in the finals I couldn't even believe he was on the court to hit any of the three's he took. He made some clutch shots, but if Ginobili had played all of his minutes, the games likely wouldn't have been that close. Jackson reminds me of Francis with his decision making, and he's obviously not nearly as talented... I'm not saying I dislike Stevie, I actually like him a lot, but I'm just being realistic. Steve's an extreme talent; he's just got to do a better job harnessing it.

Stephen Jackson looks like a black Willem Dafoe. He's an actor that was the Green Goblin in Spiderman, and the "nice sarge" in Platoon.

I think Jackson would be a great fit, he knows how to score when he is open and he knows how to pass the ball to the post, he also plays good D, something we are lacking. I am not sure why all you guys are downing him, when he is exactly what the rockets need, (not Brand or Odom) but a very good role player who is at his best around a great passer in the post (Yao). He is from Houston as well. If at all possible to get him and Posey, I would start him at the 2 with Posey at the 3 and bring Cat off the bench. Having those 3 guys rotate between the two spots.

He sucks ... teams keep letting him go ... :)

Actually, Jackson is a marginal player, very inconsistent. He can do something good one minute and commits blunder the next. I was on edge everytime he touched the ball in the play-off, can't imagine how his coach felt!

All this bashing of Jackson, but I dont care what you guys say he hit some big shots and plays good D. He knows how to score when he is open, and pass when he is not. Jackson never played college ball, so he took awhile to develop.

Exactly, we don't need to be conversating about someone who didn't even go to college.
