He was only offered 4 years, but they still have not stated the dollar figure.

Well, unlike our other long- term signees (Mo Taylor, Kelvin Cato, Moochie Norris), Posey and Kenny are actually good! We would not be cursing having Posey long- term in 3 years.

This is just a case of getting screwed by our past bad decisions.

Considering how poorly Nachbar is playing, I expect to see Juaqin as our starting 3 for most of the season. Keep Juaqin!

I would rather watch him go then overpay him and watch him not improve. We don't need more overpaid people.

I think francis 4 prez probably put it best. Posey is not the savior, he was a piece of the puzzle. We won't be title contenders next year with or without him. If we could have gotten him for a reasonable price, great. But we didn't. I really think we will be fine. I'm still expecting a breakout season from EG that a lot of y'all seem to think would be some miracle. Any team with Francis in his prime and Yao with a year under his belt will be playoff contenders. People are over estimating other teams additions.

Ok. Nut cutting time.

If Posey's offer from Memphis is really too high and sends us over the lux tax, let him go. CD is on record that we won't go over the lux tax unless it's something big and really improves the team. Ok. Let's go BIG.

$9MM per year to Odom

We could and should send Mobley out to recruit Odom. Doesn't Odom know that if he signs here, "It's over. It's ovah."

"It's really in their court right now," Posey said of the Rockets.

Rockets spokesman Nelson Luis said the team first learned of the offer Tuesday afternoon and had no other response.

======================================

No response? No $hit, hard to believe....
We're screwd...

That's all good, but I assume this means you won't be complaining when the Rockets miss the playoffs for the fifth consecutive year.

First, tell me how the hell we are going to offer Odom 9 Million a season when all we can offer is the MLE? I don't see the Clippers doing any sign and trades.

I feel like saying good for you CD. First you let the champs put their hands on Tmo and now we may lose Posey. Did I hear him say the other day that we were all set at 4 and 3? Please! Bring back Tmo and sign Posey if you know what is good for you. Letting go Tmo is JVG first wrong move and I hope it is not an omen. Gawd!

I was thinking the same thing. Not that I'm happy about it. It just looks like the best option.

Slightly over the cap is not a problem. You have the Cliff Protection over there as along as your team salasy are not over 69% BRI. Also, who knows the luxury tax is going to be triggered this year or not. NY knicks's salary last year was over 80million but they didnt pay a dime, because the salary of the whole league wasn't high enough.

If Jerry West didn't offer Posey a contract larger than the MLE, we should definitely match it. Without JPo, what do we have, Rice, Boki.... go get Lamar Odom? no way..

4 year is the longest that MLE contracts can last. I think it's definitely 4.9million/y full MLE.

As Snackbar's alter ego, I am pleased.

I've come to the realization that everything CD says in interviews is a smokescreen. That's the only way to explain it. Noone who has been in an NBA front office for as long as he has could be that clueless.

The rockets payroll is somewhere right around 53 million. The luxury tax would kick in at 55 million i believe. I think if the rockets didn't have the 9 million dollar contract of Glen Rice it could be matched. It still can, but because Les Alexander is moving into a new arena i guess he wants to keep as much of the profit without adding to the team.
