Mock 2 for Texans using @CBSSports big board at Fanspeak.

Man in that mock id be sort of happy with Dupree p, happy with Montgomery and Shipley and then otherwise kind of meh

I do like his general approach though particularly going rb in the third something I think is very possible

Dupree would be SAM in the 3-4 and then shift to the line when we go hybrid. I like it, bill.

2nd round should be WR. Oline depth for the later rounds. I like johnson in the 3rd or fourth. He is the type of back bob referenced to relieve arian. A less wishy washy tate.

just stay healthy whoever they draft.

    I doubt it.

If BOB wants to abandon the Savage project and go with a different project QB then maybe, but it would probably be at least a few years before he could be anything serviceable.

Yup. I'm pretty sure that If BOB was going to abandon the Savage project, It would have to be without a doubt for a guy like Winston or Mariota. Otherwise, I would bet It would be a guy like Hackenberg or Cook next year. There isn't really a point in drafting Hundley when this team still has some needs to fill with those picks. Only way I see us drafting Hundley is if he somehow slips to the 4th or 5th rounds, but that's very unlikely.

What's everyone thoughts on Todd Gurley? I know running backs in the first round isn't a popular choice and majority of the time Texans have gone defensive in the first round. Although if we were to take the best player available, I think he's a worthy choice. He has a pre draft visit with us so I know he's at least on the radar.

Todd Gurley has a huge injury risk, for a first round pick.

After our last #1 pick missed almost the entire season with an injury, I think the Texans would be wary of taking somebody that high coming off a major injury themselves. They also have Nix fresh in their mind who was coming off an injury, was supposed to be ready, but never played.

Gurley may end up fine, healthy, and ready to play. I just think the Texans going to try to do what they can to avoid having their first round pick not play due to injury in 2 consecutive years.

ACL tears aren't as gamebreaking as they used to be. Couple in the fact that:

1-He played less than 40 percent of his team's offensive snaps over the last three years, so there is plenty of tread still on the tires.

And 2-He doesn't have to immediately have to start since we have Arian, and by the time he does, he'll be fully recovered from the ACL, Todd Gurley is for the most part worth a first round pick considering there hasn't been a back in recent drafts that has drawn comparisons close to Adrian Peterson. If we picked him up a 16th, he gets to recover and learn behind one of the best One-Cut vision backs in the league, he might not have a huge rookie season, but the future potential down the line going into his sophomore year sounds really tantalizing.

Perhaps Arian can teach me this one-cut technique, not withstanding that I am old and slow. I too want to get paid like a Top RB FA.
