That's it, I'm reporting this message and the IP address to your CO. Consider your army career over since you're just a cry baby who can't suck it up who had the audacity to have an opinion of your own.

You're new here...that was sarcasm. Thanks for your service...that was not. :)

Awwwww......boo-hoo...... You Squids on your damned air conditioned ships have it sooooooo rough! While the Marines and Army are out there humping it in the desert and the jungle, eating nasty-ass MREs (Tabasco makes them taste a bit more edible, but it can only do so much) while fundamentalist whackoes snipe at you, try to car bomb you and shoot RPG's at you, you guys don't have to worry about anything except a few battle DRILLS. Cry me a river!

Nice. A true high-point for the BBS and a great testament to conservatives supporting our troops. I still wish you would enlist bamaslammer, and if you already enlisted, then re-enlist. Put your money where your mouth is (like treeman) or tone down the bile.

rimrocker, I really thought your article by Michelle Golberg was the best one I've read on the occupation of Iraq and the neocons. What was the source? As if this is typical of their articles, I would like to bookmark it.

I'm speaking from the perspective of a Marine versus the Navy, who to us were all a bunch of pampered whiners. I didn't say that I didn't support the troops, but that I disagreed with all of this whining and complaining. Do your job and quit your b****ing. As I said before, you know what you got yourself into when you signed upon the dotted line. And as a 10-year veteran of the Corps, I think I can pretty much say what I want to say about the issue since I've BTDT.

Yeah, I'm familiar with that tradition, but the "boo hoo" stuff is beneath you, I think. The dude is signed up and doing what he is told, and as he says, his CO has not said "shut up." He's serving his country right now at a stressful time, a time with a lot of pregnant questions hanging in the air.

And as for the Navy, we gotta have one, apparently, and plenty of good men have lost their lives at sea for this country (and countless others). My uncle was one of the few to survive his ship sinking in the Pacific after kamikaze pilots destroyed it. Anyway, I just never understood all the inter-branch crap that gets thrown around... But then, I don't understand fraternities either.

Jon Stewart: Look, even some American generals have said that the Iraqis have put up more resistance than they were expected to.

Stephen Colbert: First rule of journalism, Jon, is to know your sources. Sounds like these "generals" of yours may be a little light in the combat boots, if you know what I'm saying.

Jon Stewart: I don't think I know what you're saying.

Stephen Colbert: I'm saying they're queers, Jon. They're Hitler-loving queers.
