Like I said, I'm losing my hair, too!

I always read and usually enjoy your input, however I do find you sometimes to be a bit harsh personally on people. I usually attribute it to alcochol but we both know that that's no excuse! :D

I guess you are in a probationary period of some sort...

Rocketman95 has almost dropped out of this area so he's in limbo too.

Well, sure, but that doesn't mean anything...you should know that by now. In all honesty I am mostly baffled by you...sometimes you seem intelligent and other times you don't (since you always claim to not get or understand my posts). Mostly, though, you don't seem to take my meanness seriously so you are ahead of much of the board. I also think you are wacko...which is why I said you were funny.

<b>rimbaud</b>: Somehow you manage to be both blunt and indirect at the same time. It's a miracle, I think. I do get some of your posts....

I'm more boring than wacko-- remember me, the angry white male Republican. :D

Your meanness is obviously for your own pleasure.

Honestly, that will not help. Your non-oh-poor-me posts are top shelf, Mulder.

That's funny, that's the only thing I know can frustrate MadMax.

Franchiseblade and MacBeth are posters I love to read regarding basketball, but not in political based threads...I find Achebe and even rimbaud to be slightly more open minded on seeing things in political stances, but they are not as entertaining in basketball posts as the aforementioned. All 4 posters I mentioned are top-quality...I could mention who I really enjoy following in politcal-ilked threads, but it is probably apparent.

Please note that I added Dadakota to the list as well Giddyup. I said the list was partial. Johnheath does argue what he believes but has good evidence about half the time, and fails to acknowledge the other half of the time. TraderJorge is into putting words into other people's mouths, but I kind of like him. Bamaslammer I should also add to my list. I wasn't as familiar with him until recently, which is why I didnt' include him at first. Treeman puts a lot of effort into his posts and I should have included him as well. I don't think he's the most open to change, but who on this board really is? By the way I wasn't saying liked Mr. Clutch because of any occasional softballs. I like him because he's admittedly done self examination on some of his opinions. It hasn't changed his political stance per se, and I wouldn't expect or even want it to. I just admire the fact that he's willing to take serious looks at those kinds of things.

After the recent <i>schism</i> of these topics from the Hangout Forum, he has seemed to cut back on appearances in them.

there are plenty of other things, too! :D but that one just KILLS ME!! "it's just about sex...nah nah nah!!" so uninformed...and it was very much the common sentiment at the time.

It's a schism that has definitely diminished the participation in these discussions so many of us enjoy reading and adding to, if we feel the need. I think dividing Hangout into two parts has been a mistake... something I didn't believe at first... and that they should be assimilated.

Hayesstreet comes to mind immediately, though I agree with him on many things. MadMax also deserves a mention.

One thing that's interesting about this thread is the wide variety of people mentioned by some and not others. Perhaps it's a question of style - admiring those who post like you technically just w/different content.

Is it because one can more readily appreciate his/her mirror image (<i>ability to walk in the shoes of the other</i>) or an unconscious attempt at <i>self praise</i>?

    Both, of course ;).

I suppose the ultimate compliment is when their style and substance is different from your own, and you still admire them. Much more rare, though.

Trying to think of someone like that on this board...

...RocketRiver probably comes closest, though I agree with him often, so perhaps it shouldn't count.

pgabriel, he is not always on my side but I like a lot of his input on other subject as well as the ones I have started and what me and him disagree on.

I tell you what, since the split of the forums, I have not been in as foten either. I really liked seeing all the threads as opposed tp sifting through the D&D threads and then the Hangout threads.

Oh, I read everyday, trust me. :) I've just found that there are many other posters who say exactly what I want to say, just tons better.

Mango, it actually started way before then. I can't remember the exact time, but it seems that my participation in these various threads started to die down about six months or so ago. I got so bad that I couldn't even put up with myself, I don't know how all of you did it! I like to think that when I do participate now, it's a somewhat different RM95.
