I dont have much as a scouting report except that he Ranks #10 in the NBA in Assists Per Turnover ratio. We could use ball cantrol...

boykins had a tremendous year w/golden state last year as a spark plug that wouldn't quit. Brought in as a reserve the miniature point guard brought intensity that was unmatched and showed a propensity to make the big shots while being guarded.
That being said, I feel he had a great streak, but will never be able to match the magic he had last year. What's more is his height makes him a poor fit for a team like the Rocket's whose back court is already one of the smaller in the league. This is a player tha would fit great on an older team that needed a spark off the bench.

I don't see how any of those guys would make us contenders.

Coleman, Griffin, and Taylor would have to fight over playing time.

Stepania's a good guy to pick up...but we already got Cato. They both are horrible on offense but Stepania led the league in rebounding efficiency. Cato was #4.

Jackson's okay...has a nice rainbow shot. He won't get much playing time here...we want veterans!!!!!!

    Voshon Lenard would be fantastic. He's a good shooter...and a veteran. He'd be a good addition....but wouldn't make us a contender. :(

EARL BOYKINS! That would be pretty cool to have the shortest and tallest players in the NBA playing together. It would be funny....but useless! Boykins is awesome. He's a very good shooter...that's why he's in the NBA! I hope the Rockets get him for fun. But...he won't make us a contender. Also...he is Moochie Norris's kinda friend! They both used to play in the CBA. ;) I AGREE THOUGH. Way more effective than Mooch! heh...

I didnt mean They alone would make us contenders. Just the Additions of them would solidify our bench. Fill the need for defence, rebounding and ball caontrol. Which should make us contenders. In my humble opinion.

Wow, didn't realize that Earl Boykins was a free agent. If the Warriors lose him and Arenas, they could be in some serious trouble. I think Boykins would make a great bench player for the Rockets considering both Ollie and Daniels are off the board. How much of a salary would Boykins command?

I disagree that Boykins wouldn't be a good fit. I think he'd be a great fit. He brings energy- which we need. He brings a pass first shoot second mentality- which we need. He brings speed- which we need. And believe it or not, he does play pretty darn good defense. Who cares if he gets posted up? He's got a 7'5" guy right behind him to help him with that problem.
I've watched him play since college and he is a stud and in this league to stay.
He played for Rudy on the World Championship team he coached a few years back.

He definitely makes a believer of this statement for me:
"IT'S NOT THE SIZE OF THE DOG IN THE FIGHT, IT'S THE SIZE OF THE FIGHT IN THE DOG!"

Earl Boykins is a good player but his versatility is limited.

    Especially on the defensive end.

player.. mpg fg% 3p% ft% apg spg bpg to ppg
    Boykins 19.4 .429 .377 .865 3.3 .56 .06 1.07 8.8

    Mooch 16.8 .406 .244 .684 2.4 .67 .05 1.05 4.4

Boykins may be 5'5" but he kicked 6'2" mooch's hooch last year. Boykins had a better f/g %, 3p %, Ft%, apg, ppg. assist to turnover ratio and OMG more BPG.

Its all about what have you done for me latley.

Boykins would be awesome but I'm pretty sure the Warriors have allready told him they are going to give him a contract. I don't really see why he'd want to be anywhere else.

Yeah. Boykins is a very good off the bench player. I watched the Rockets at Warriors game last season and he scored two floating jumper over the stretching arms of Yao! Everybody in the arena wowed. He almost single handily brought the warriors back to the game (scoring in 3 straight possessions). Or may be it's the bad defense of our point guards make him look good? :)

Guys, Boykins had a great season in golden state last year, but the fact still remains..........................

    The Guy is 5'5" tall..................

I like him and he is a spark plug, but I don't want to get smaller.....
