I have the CM engine on my N7 running a custom Lollipop ROM (Screw'd). But my phone's (S3 Verizon) running LiquidSmooth LP which switched over to the RRO Layers approach and while it took a little while to get used to the change (and a new Layers Manager app that someone contributed) I actually like the layers approach better (you can mix and match). The main advantage is there are more CM themes but that gap is lessening.
I am tempted... looks closest to what I would have wanted (an updated N5). I had been thinking the new Samsung... but that Asus looks nice. Don't know anything about Zen UI but the big question is whether it will be available on Verizon.
Oneplus is so slow with their Lollipop. Should be out by the end of the month as well as their new OS, Oxygen.
How in the world does Note 3 get lollipop before the Note 4? Damn T-Mobile, they used to always be the fastest updater...
5.1 has injected new life to my nexus 5 to a point where I'm contemplating not upgrading an additional year. This is the longest I've stuck with one smartphone.
Same here. I was about to pull the trigger on the z3 compact, but after the 5.1 update and a factory reset, I have no intentions of upgrading. My battery also lasts an entire day now.
My wife need so new phone. I'm looking to go off contract, and I think I've narrowed it down to the Oneplus One and the Zenfone 2. Gotta do some research. I think she may like the zenfone more.
Yup. As much as like liked the aesthetic changes in 5.0 there was just too much inconstancies in performance that frustrated the hell out of me. The launcher would redraw every few hours; swiping to Google Now lagged and was stuttering; there was a 1-2 second delay hitting the recents button; the play store lagged; play music lagged. Man it was a mess. I'm glad Google took their time with 5.1. Performance is night and day between 5.0 and 5.1.
that zenfone 2 is pretty tempting...that comes off contract right? is it using android OS? also whens it release?
Runs android 5.0, which is the most up to date version. Looks like it comes out Tuesday, I believe. I will be doing my research. The 4gb Ram, 64 or 32Gb (Not sure) model runs somewhere around $315. It's got top of the line specs, just with an Intel chip set, which is somewhat uncommon. I'll continue to research and update if I buy one.
