    Was a small rupture in the lung?
    If there is no damage on bone, then maybe 1-2 weeks should be enough after stitching in the lung.

    Guys, I'm pretty sure you can't create a pneumothorax in blunt trauma without fracturing a rib.

    This will be a bit of a lingering issue as TJ's conditioning will suffer.

    No... its a small rupture in the sac the lung sits in... which allows air to get in there and partially collapse the lung. It usually either heals spontaneously, or with the assistance of a small chest tube.

    If he were to require his lung to be "stitched up"... he'd be out for a long time.

    Pretty sure you can get a pneumothorax without a rib fracture.

    That being said, whether its a fracture, bruise, contusion, inflammation... whatever.... the treatment and overall recovery time are all going to be similar.

    His recovery time will depend on the percentage of his lung that is collapsed . I've had a lung collapse on me twice. Both times I was recovered within a week and back to full activity by week #2 .

    TJ is out a few weeks. He is not terminally ill or permanently disabled. No need to be in mourning any more than we need to if he had sprained an ankle.

    You definitely can. It's less common, but it's happened to me twice now. Unless it's worse than they're letting on, he'll be just fine.

    This sucks for Jones. As long as he comes back before the playoffs then all is swell but it hinders our ability to rest Harden. Jones was really helping to carry the offensive burden at times and is able to create for himself.

    I had a minor case of this once. It hurt like a mofo to breathe for a couple of days then it went away. If that's really all it is, he'll be fine before the playoffs.
