Doesn't have to do with accommodating anyone. It's simply about chemistry and fit. Just cause you start doesn't mean you play more minutes. I thought the DMo/Dorsey front line set the tone early on in the half court and TJ/Smith can really push the pace.

It's just about fit. but in the ends, TJ and Jones are the two bigs the Rockets should be investing in long term so eventually those two need to buck up and learn how to protect the paint together.

Totally agree with this. I'm saying in the future (like next year) these guys have to figure out how to get better and not have to rely on a shot blocker like Dwight. It's unfair to ask the front office and coaches to split the two of them up. These are the two best young bigs on the team. They simply need to improve.

Maybe because DMo is too fragile to handle a benching. Apparently he's only useful in one specific situation, that being announced as starting "PF" - in any other setting, he's completely useless, according to his boosters on this forum. I guess TJones can handle not starting without going into a shell, like most NBA players.

Looks like. It was right quote from Clyde, that "sometimes it takes a month for a player to realize that he hit a wall".
Two great games in a row. Maybe soon DMo will transfer from X-factor to "The Real Deal".

Yeah, he is frail and fragile. He'll ask to go to play for Vipers, just to be in game shape. Sitting on the bench is boring and gives hemorrhoids.

wow, you guys are actually arguing over who you like more at the expense of the other Rockets' player? Tear one down to prop one up. Always happens ever freaking year, like clockwork.

    smh -- why?

There is one undisputable fact -- the title of this thread has been proven untrue for 2015. DMo is not the Rockets X-Factor.

    Brewer is.

But nah, basketballholic and OP won't let the thread die a natural death, and neither will the ones who want them to fess up that they were wrong....since that's not going to happen.

You reckon he magically got his energy back because Dorsey played 6 minutes of C

He just went through a slump - happens to every player. But I doubt if one can attribute todays game to him facing a 'smaller' opponent (Dwayne Dedmon, the 7' 245lb C was starting at PF for Orlando today :p )

Is he out of his slump? Let's hope so! The more players playing well down the business end of the season the better

    Sorry broski.

    That's not indisputable. You're wrong.

D-Mo was the "X-Factor" most of the season. If anyone would have thought the rockets be in the position they are without Dwight for most of the season before the season started they'd be ridiculed.

The front line has held up very well and the one consistent has been Motiejunas. He was there from the beginning with Dwight, to Black, to Dwight again, to Smith, to Dorsey, to Jones, and now back to Dorsey again, before Dwight again soon.

He deserves credit and was the x-factor.

As I mentioned before though, Howard is now the x-factor.

I know you don't like me, but let's not falsely claim things as facts.

Best post moves on the team.
Becoming the best three point shooter on the team.
Fantastic passer out of double teams.
    Smart position defender, good feet.

When he continues to put on strength this offseason, and he gets over this little wall he has hit, he has scary potential. Here is to hoping for continued growth. The potential is outrageous...

This is true, and I don't know whether it's a good or bad thing. How are our guards so mediocre shooting the three in a three-centric offense?

D-Mo has undeniably been an X-factor this season. Jones and Howard both missed half the season, yet the Rockets are still on pace to have a better record than last season and a top 10 defense.

The team needed him to step up, and he did.

Dmo has been there all year for us and we should be thankful he had stepped his game up in the wake of all the injuries we have had. He has every reason to be tired. He has been an x factor for a majority of the year, now its brewer's turn. Thank you Dmo.

Wow this thread is really starting to turn into a pissing contest.

Why can't we all see (and agree) that both Jones and Dmo have flaws but also some great strenghts and both have very good potential. It is not can only like and appreciate one or the other.

That being said good game by DMo, if he goes into the gym this summer and gains strength and becomes an acceptable rebounder he has a serious future in the nba.

I agree, his rebounding can be frustrating. but he brings so much else to the team that he and dwight are a great frontcourt especially with Jones and Smith from the bench.

Will D-Mo and TJ ever both have a good game? It seems a bit disturbing that both are much better when starting.

Wait a Lakers saying something negative about Howard, hold the press that is something I have never seen before.

Everybody who watches the Rockets can see our rebounding problems (we actually have Dorsey playing some minutes to battle this), and Howard is one of the best rebounders in the game. Yes we miss him.

And Harden has had to put up super human performances for this team to win as well. DMO is not the X-Factor Dude, let it go.

Can't we all be happy that we're still winning and that our PF position that was a perceived weakness at the beginning of the season has turned into a strength?? Who cares who's better at whatever. We're winning, that's all that matters and the PF position is contributing every single game.

Who cares who's the current X Factor, Brewer may be right now, but I can't imagine where we'd be if DMo didn't step up when Howard and TJones were both out and Smith was still figuring it all out. 45-22 with all our missed games, WOW, never would have imagined it in the preseason. GO ROX
