12 of the Rocket's next 18 games are against Eastern Conference teams. 10 of these 18 games are at home. 6 of those 10 games are against teams under 500. 3 of the 8 road games are against poor teams as well. The Rockets need to make a playoff push now. This schedule is very supportive of that. Given the Rockets great record against the east, I would expect them to go 11-1 against the eastern clubs. I also think that the Rockets will beat Denver, the Clips, and Vancouver. The Rockets really should go 14-4 on this swing. The problem is, the Rockets never beat the teams they are supposesd to. Most likely, the Rockets will simply split the 18 games, and rule out any chances of a playoff birth. Thoughts? ------------------ "Rarely is the question asked: Is our children learning how to put food on their family while being put to death."
They need players back up front. Then start playing games and got to win them now. If they dont we head back in the lottery. ------------------ President of the Moochie Norris fan club.
I expect Taylor to return Tuesday, and I wouldn't be surprised to see them make a deal for a rebounder of some sort. And of course, if all this Dream stuff wears off, and he ends up staying, the Rockets will be back to the strength they had when they were 13-9. ------------------ "Rarely is the question asked: Is our children learning how to put food on their family while being put to death."
While I agree with you about the schedule I wish I shared your confidence about the Denver game. ------------------
Denver has won 9 of 10. I'd say its time for a letdown for them. ------------------ "Rarely is the question asked: Is our children learning how to put food on their family while being put to death."
yeah, we were due for a letdown. unfortunately for houston, that game was last night. ------------------ the nuggets suck...i know, i know!
By letdown, I mean a customary Denver-style 10 game losing streak. ------------------ "Rarely is the question asked: Is our children learning how to put food on their family while being put to death." [This message has been edited by ZRB (edited January 21, 2001).]
I think the Rockets could very well get hot right now, assuming we get at least 1 center back. I could see taking 5 out of the next 6. 4 are home, 2 away...but the away games are Denver and Charlotte, so I expect those to be wins. The two tough games are vs Philly and Miami, both at home. I think we can beat Philly, but I'm not sure about Miami. With the way things are looking right now, we could be going against Olajuwon Jan 30 against Miami(but I hope not). That would be his homecoming. Anyway...after the next 6, we've got 3 big games in a row....@SA, NYK, @Phi. I'd love to see 2/3 right there. ------------------ "Steve is good. The Rockets crushed Miami in Miami, so I expect a win at home. Denver will be a tough game, but the Rockets will prevail. Philly will be the only tough game, but I can easily see the Rockets winning that too. ------------------ "Rarely is the question asked: Is our children learning how to put food on their family while being put to death."
no offense rocket fans, but zrb really needs help. denver 24-17 houston 20-20 ------------------ the nuggets suck...i know, i know!
I don't need help. The Rockets have had the toughest schedule in the NBA. The Nuggets: While not the easiest, they have had plenty of home games. The Rockets have been ravaged by injuries. The Nuggets have been relatively healthy. If the Nuggets keep this up, I will change my tune. I am just not convinced that they are all that good. Maybe when they start playing on the road again... ------------------ "Rarely is the question asked: Is our children learning how to put food on their family while being put to death." eh, you just express blatant disrespect to any team whose name doesnt start with 'houston rocke', especially mine. at least other rocket fans think we are ok or average. all i hear are excuses from you. ------------------ the nuggets suck...i know, i know!
Letdowns can come in spades my friend! ------------------ Rocket fans UNITE to bring Pig Miller back home! WE NEED PIG! OINK! OINK! OINK! [This message has been edited by RocksMillenium (edited January 22, 2001).]
does houston ever have letdowns or only conviently during the hardest road trips in nba history or when their entire team is on the injured list? ------------------ the nuggets suck...i know, i know!
Come on Nugzfan, nobody is saying Houston is superhuman, NOBODY is saying Houston will beat Denver! Obviously Houston has letdowns, they are at .500 right now! All I'm saying is that you said that Denver already suffered their letdown, well letdowns can last more then one game. You seem to have some fixation that all Rockets fans think the team is unbeatable. As for the entire team being the injured list, it didn't stop Houston from going into New York and beating a team that is better then Denver now did it? ------------------ Rocket fans UNITE to bring Pig Miller back home! i apologize if my comments are too harsh but i still stand by them. i shoulda kept a log of all the comments i was referring too. there are quite a few fans who seem to think some of those things you mentioned. you guys are fans - being optimistic is part of it. personally i believe in a more realistic-optimism, but i was probably having a bad day and taking it out on you guys ------------------ the nuggets suck...i know, i know!
