What is the best software to begin this process? What additional hardware might I need? What kind of impact will these videos have on my web site needs (memory/spece ect..)? Will my coolpix 995 camera make videos? Any thoughts or hints or web sites to look into would be great. Thanks in advance. Expense not really a concern. I just want something that will be a respectable to high quality.

I don't want that automatic load that ESPN has. I just need something simple that people click on and then the video kicks in.

    PhiSlammaJamma,
Use web design software such as Macromedia Dreamweaver will easily allow you to add audio & video on a website... normally if your can view video on your computer smoothly, then you won't have a problem to play video content on the internet...

Do you have links to a few web sites that impress with their method of presentation and you would like to use as inspiration?

Is your target audience on a local network with plenty of bandwidth?

Most of the movie trailer sites are pretty good... such as the Matrix movie site... thematrix.com

Method & style of presentation is really up to you i.e. how you would like your website to look like & how you will like the users to access the contents... e.g. If you are targeting audience/viewer with high bandwidth you may upload higher quality movies (larger files)... or go with the condensed quicktime version (smaller files) so that 56k modem users don't have to wait... or have both up so people can choose....

If you don't have video editing software... you might want to invest one in Adobe Premier...It's one of the best that has all the tools needed to format movies into different quicktime & other types of video files...

    Thanks a bunch.

My audience is doctors across the nation. Mostly older doctors. So I think half of them will have the best possible technology, half of them will have access to the hospital technology, and then another half :) of them will be so old and small town they won't know what to do. It will completely baffle them. So it's really a mixed bag of users.

But in general, the docs will want to be impressed.

Most of the doctors will use the video while at the hospital. sounds high tech. Not really. These docs will be be downloading powerpoint presentations from other docs in order to educate themselves on the spot. That's the primary goal initially. Eventually I think they'll move to real video and lecture.

I'm not sure what examples mights be out there. So I'll need to research that. But I'll start with the movie sights and then work my way around the net. Most medical groups are behind the times (sounds untrue, but extremely true because of the liability involved). I'm going to try medical schools for examples as well. I'm Just in the initial stages of figuring out how to do this and make it work for everyone.
