Handily broke my goal of 2 hours today. Unofficially in the 1:56:30 area. Every mile under 9 minutes except for two and they were at 9:08 and 9:01. Not bad for an old man.

    Good work mate!

    Congrats!

I really appreciate those who run half marathons and full narathons. Takes a considerable amount of effort and diligence and the rewards must be great

    Congrats!

I ran my first half last month and finished in 1:39:42. Unfortunately, I got shin splints immediately afterwards (probably happened during the race) and haven't been able to really run since. Still recovering.

Don't know if you're sticking around but my band is playing later tonight at 8:30 at Wild Tymes near the Landmark center as part of the kick off of St. Pat's weekend.

Congrats that's awesome! Pretty decent splits as well - you didn't slow down very much. Keep us posted on your next goal(s).

Why are you taking a break to post this? Get back out there and finish the other half! :)

My next goal is a marathon on our 35th wedding anniversary (no, not that kind of marathon, that ship has sailed).

However, there is a charity golf tournament the next day, so I may knock that down to a half. I'll have to see how my two long training runs between now and then go.

I like to run the marathon on daylight's saving day, and I can usually cut an hour off my time.

And I like to have sex on day light's saving, and claim an extra hour of duty.

I'm not much good for anything other than 12 ounce curls the day after a marathon. Going down stairs is ridiculous - easier to navigate them backwards. Golf would be a challenge.
