Even if you were correct, that Cotton serving in the military in Iraq and Afghanistan gives him some sort of special knowledge that escapes all of the President's advisers. Advisers who also served in Iraq, Afghanistan, and many other wars at both a lower level like Cotton and in positions of leaderships during times of war and peace with our enemies and Iran itself. Cotton's experience in Afghanistan and Iraq gives him no position of authority and next to no special knowledge about the appropriate course of action in IRAN. You seem to hold out Cotton as an expert and trust him over more informed people. You are holding him out as an expert when he is nothing of the sort. You show a poor ability to understand what sort of past experience and knowledge would actually give someone expertise. I hope you are not involved in hiring.
Cotton graduated magna c*m lade from Harvard. He isn't stupid he knows what he is doing. He wants attention and he got it.
I don't think him being infantry says what you think it says Spoiler Of course that's irrelevant because what matters is that our foolish president is negotiating a treaty with an enemy in bad faith, knowing fully that there's no way it would be approved by congress. It's embarrassing to have a completely incompetent president, but the only people we can blame is ourselves because we elected him twice. Let's hope we do better next time....no matter who it is.
So your argument of the President's competence has nothing to do with the merit of "treaty" but whether a congress that has explicitly acknowledge that their purpose of existence is to remove the President from office is in agreement with said president's ideas.
Obama and this man disapprove of Tom Cotton's letter <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>This barbaric, wolflike & infanticidal regime of <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Israel?src=hash">#Israel</a> which spares no crime has no cure but to be annihilated. 7/23/14 <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/HandsOffAlAqsa?src=hash">#HandsOffAlAqsa</a></p>— Khamenei.ir (@khamenei_ir) <a href="https://twitter.com/khamenei_ir/status/531057306142650369">November 8, 2014</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
If anything I would use Cotton's Harvard education as evidence for his "scholarliness" rather than his infantry experience in Afghanistan and Iraq. However, that does't change the fact that he could have preconceived bias.
No, you missed the mark pretty badly. The president's incompetence is shown by him creating a hostile relationship with congress rather than working with them like any halfway decent politician would. This president would have been wise to follow in former president Clinton's footsteps when it comes to working with an opposition dominated congress. Instead, Obama has done pretty much everything wrong but people keep making excuses for him and blaming everyone around him for some reason. Seriously, is there any defense of negotiating a treaty with an enemy in bad faith?
So when the Senate Minority leader and now the majority leader stated at one point : "The single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term president." rather than "take this nation out of it's recession" BEFORE HIS ****ING INAUGURATION, it possibly can't be that Obama is navigating through one of the most hostile, uncompromising congresses towards a president ever. And if you want empirical evidence of their hostility, incompetence and uncompromising nature, by all means ask and I'll provide. And when you review that empirical evidence, know that this uncompromising stubborn president has issued one of the fewest amount of executive orders and vetoes in American Presidential history. So **** off with your disingenuous revisionist bull.
He's done nothing but alienate congress from day one, Clinton had a congress that actively tried to impeach him, yet because he wasn't a completely incompetent fool, he still managed to work with them and get things accomplished. The simple fact is that Obama still has no interest in working with anyone to get anything done, he even struggled to compromise with his own party when they controlled everything. He's just a really poor politician and he's proved that time and time again. Great at getting elected, worthless while in office. Again, what defense is there of a president who is negotiating a treaty with an enemy in bad faith? What possible good could come of it?
As Bobbythegreat pointed out earlier, you keep missing the mark greatly. President Obama's incompetence began before he was even sworn in. He should have compromised with them before he became president and agreed before being sworn in not to run another term. Except he didn't compromise and has never tried to compromise because he is a dictator who rules by dictat who appoints tzars.
How is Iran any more of an enemy than Saudi or Pakistan? Last time I checked Iran has done more to counter ISIS than Saudi yet we still suck Saudi's dick. In fact Saudi propagating their Wahhabism is a central part of the ISIS's interpretation and justification for their corporal punishments. What the **** are you referring to by "bad faith"?
First of all, let's just say that you have some pretty goofy ideas about the relationship of the US to the region, but I'm' not going to let that derail this entirely. As to "bad faith", he knows for a fact that there's no way he can get congress to approve the deal he's setting up and without them there's no way the treaty can go into effect. I think he's smart enough to know that even if he tried to pretend what he was negotiating wasn't actually a treaty, that there's no way it would stand up to a legal challenge. Negotiating a deal that he knows has no chance whatsoever of ever going into effect is negotiating in bad faith.
I would rather the debate be about the actual merit of negotiations with Iran rather than partisan rhetoric. Please tell me how Iran's regime is a more morally reprehensible regime than Saudi.
It's sad that Iran knows more about how our gov't functions than you do. Maybe you should take a class or something. It's sad that you people are so stupid that you would rather let Iran have a nuke versus supporting the president in trying to prevent them from having a nuke, because your hate of our president is so great you'd rather let the entire country suffer in order to see him fail. It's sad because the divisiveness of people like you is what will make our country go down into the toilet. You are not a patriot you are the ultimate traitor. You should move to Israel.
