I thought he sucked, did he play much better last year? I never payed much attention to him so sorry for the ignorance.
great move or as drexler would say..i like it, bill! the offensive line has got to have continuity. Can't wait to see the line after a year of gelling. now let's get our qb...hoyer. i'm kidding. a lot crap by houston media that has become very reactionary with the rise of their twitter accounts, on how this front office can't get their chubby hands on talent. but truth is if No.8 doesn't have the biggest melt down since Private lawrence Leonard , we would still be sending just as many pro bowlers as we did in 2012. That's how much a nice offense makes the team look, overall. I expect crick& merciless to take an ever bigger leap next season after already taking huge strides in Romeo's brilliant scheme. Brandon will also make top guard money in 2016. I'm excited about our lines.
At the end of the year he graded out as our best Offensive Lineman. He was better than Brown. Myers was our worst lineman. It's a good deal, keeps our right side of the line together. He's much more suited for the power scheme that O'brien wants to run. It's a good deal.
Was a huge critic of his after the 2013 season but showed nice improvement and was probably the most consistent lineman all year. This is good for continuity and chemistry on the line, doesn't sound like the deal is a team/cap killer either. Now get Kareem and Mallet, and a WR or two.
he has definitely grown on me since last year but this deal reeks of "play exception in contract year then fade into mediocrity." i hope i'm wrong though because he's been pretty good for us and we need o-line continuity.
Guessing that means something like $10MM (including signing bonus) in year 1, $3.75 in years 2 and 3 to get to the $13.75MM and $17MM numbers. Will be interesting how the break out the year 1 total compensation between salary and signing bonus. Seems like decent value, a cap hit of under $6MM for the first 4 years. Doug Free got 3 years, $15MM/$6MM guaranteed. We'll see what they do next with Kareem.
Solid. You have to overpay a little bit once they get to the market but this is a very fair deal for an upper echelon RT. Love that we are keeping our guys.
