Here is my question I can't seem to get an answer on, in McClains article he states the following:

I went over to overthecap.com and found out that the 8.82 million in salary is if we cut him now. However, if we designate him a June 1st cut we would save 11.5 million. I know you cant use the money until after June 1st. Are they just going to take their 8.82 mllion now so that they can spend it before the free agent market dries up?

I'm glad he has a chance to pick his team/quarterback, but it could be Indy guys...

Texans first and if this helps the team then it must be done. I hope the Texans win a ring first but if we can't maybe he can find his.

Was also at our tent at the bbq cookoff (as was Mario Williams, Hopkins and Antonio Smith). Guess they were having one last hurrah.

5th, at best. Simply too much salary.

Johnson's holdout last year makes a lot of sense given the conclusion here.

2014 was basically a wasted season for him.

He got paid, but he knew that team wasn't going to go anywhere, and he knew he was going to be jettisoned immediately thereafter.

We really should have traded him last year. Could have possibly gotten a 3rd for him. Maybe even more.

Surprisingly I'm not upset about this, I guess the drama's gone on so long that the care has worn off, and I feel like the franchise is in good hands for once. Of course his destination could potentially piss me off, if he goes to the Colts he's dead to me. Thankfully the Ravens are strapped for space.

With the houston media so hell bent on what receiver will replace him...how about the man throwing the footballs? Who is that gonna be? This organizations thinking that QB's grow on trees and can be found in the FA market is laughable. (Manning and Brees are the recent exceptions, but both were medical gambles that paid off)

Again...get Cobb...or get Maclin or get Crabtree but, who is going to the be the QB? Is Mallet even healthy? The Texans have no future at QB

Who's going to give up a 5th round pick at that salary? Raiders have the cap space I guess.

I'm sure the Texans knew they needed to free up money to be able to keep Mallett.

Been watching this guy for years. If this team were to ever win a Superbowl, it's hard to think that he might not be a part of the team. This sucks.

Wow, I didn't mind the move but I'm pretty pissed off to hear that O'Brien told AJ that he wouldn't be starting next year. I mean I know he's gotten older but damn, he still caught 85 passes last year and nearly 1,000 yards? I mean Damaris Johnson is the 3rd WR, wtf gives? I guess Texans must be planning on drafting or signing a WR.

Yeah, not liking the way this is playing out. This could have been handled better. He shouldn't have to request or demand a trade. Hopefully they can work things out and this is just a bad rumor.

Seahawks and Patriots got to the big dance with average wide receivers. Our offense needs to be any position can beat you.

We knew this time was coming sooner or later. A little bitter sweet but that's the nature of the business. Dre Day played his heart out for us and that's well appreciated. I was hoping we would have won a super bowl with him. But oh well .

Tom Brady and Russell Wilson might have had a little to do with it. Plus Revis, Sherman, Browner, Chancellor, Irving, and Chandler Jones. When the Texans have a top 5 QB and a complete defense, then we can talk about average wide receivers.

    Technically yes.

Football players don't go into the HOF as members of a specific team like they do in baseball. If Andre goes to the HOF, there will be a bust made of his head and it will sit on a display that lists his name, position, what teams he played for and in which years. That's it. Very simple. So it would list the 2003-14 Houston Texans, followed by whatever other team(s) he plays for. As an example, Montana is listed as having been both a 49er and a Chief.
