Per Lin interview, he's being put in charge in the 4th (apparently since allstar break?). You can certainly see that in the 4th Byron is giving him a floor spacing lineup to work with. I guess they must be looking to see if they want to keep him or not, although letting him play that way is confusing unless they are planning to let the team play something other than Byron's system in the future. Playing a lot more pick and roll in the 4th is bumping his stats considerably, and resulting in wins (at least against the East). I have no clue why they would want the wins, though.
how good could they possibly be next year? Even if Rondo or Love goes there. Watch them keep their top 5 pick this year and lose a top3 pick next year.
I am happy for Jeremy. But it is only one game. Given the right system (like Laker in the 4th quarter), he can play well. But how come he can only play well in one specific system?
Augustine scored 18 points, but none (as in zero, rien, nada, understand?) were on Lin. Lin didn't guard Lamb much. But we can't expect a LOH like you to be fair.
He is absolutely awesome in driving and finishing. But is average or below average in everything else. He is not a well rounded player. But he is still young. He can still improve.
Hmmm... He didn't say anything about Lin defending them. He just stated that other than Lin, other players did well too. Don't read too much into it.
Lin is way above average at playmaking. (His turnovers are mostly due to his determination to make his teammates better regardless of the cost to himself.) Lin's playmaking is why his teammates usually do really well when Linsanity gets going -- check the last few games, when Lin was finally allowed to play his style. (Before that, Byron Scott was stupidly trying to cram his Princeton offense down the team's throat, even though most of the Lakers players can't pass. The solution, of course, was to take advantage of the one Laker who could pass, namely Lin. That's what we've been seeing the last few games.)
Tinman said "He played well today. But so did augustine and lamb". We all know him well enough to see that he definitely intended to smear Lin, and I countered with the facts. The numbers are clear -- you can't expect a foaming-at-the-mouth LOH to be fair.
A few decent games where Lin has not been his typical atrocious self this season.....against depleted and pathetic teams.....and the morons are out in full force, thinking Linsanity has returned. You almost have to feel sorry for them for setting themselves up for the misery they bring upon themselves. The above gem has been brought to you by the poster that has previously brought you such gems as.... http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showpost.php?p=7353172&postcount=145 http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showpost.php?p=7353367&postcount=149 And that was just a sample.... NEXT.
If you had actually watched the Lakers games, you would have noticed the dramatic difference in playing style between the first half of the season and the last few games -- when Lin is the PG. That was definitely on the coaching. By the way, I doubt that Byron Scott has willingly changed. When Jack Nicholson loudly announced that he was thinking of selling his Lakers season tickets, I think the Front Office panicked and forced the coach to set Lin free.
See my reply to CometsWin. Since the ASB there has been a dramatic change in the Lakers playing style, whenever Lin is the PG. And that is why he has been doing well. Lin can still achieve this. He is far above average as a playmaker.
They did want to win as always. But they sucked so bad so... I don't believe they are tanking. They actually tried... but without a Asik-like center commanding the defense, they can't go nowhere.
