Will people discount Harden's performance because of the crotch kick?

Yeah, lol, I'm sure this is how ESPN is going to break down the candidates for MVP:

Curry: The best player on the best team
LeBron: The best player in the league
Westbrook: Playing the best right now
Harden: kicked someone in the balls, not a deserving candidate.

Harden didn't even extend his leg. I believe he intentionally kicked him out of anger, but not intentionally in the crotch. LBJ sold and over exaggerated that more than he needed to.

Didn't Wade get suspended for something similar to this a while back?

If not the "kick," it will be something else to downplay his performance and the Rockets' season. I stopped caring, though. Why let their bull**** dampen this? We've waited a long time for Dream's successor. I think he's here. :)

I agree. It sucks and its worth a little righteous indignation, but it's just another chapter in the novel of lack of respect the Rockets and many Houston teams get.

I'd rather the Rockets fly as much under the radar as possible, and have people under-appreciate what this team can do. It makes every win like today's that much sweeter.

I will say that as little public note as the Rockets get, the Grizzlies get even less. I'm not a Memphis fan by any stretch of the imagination, but I guess the media will continue to be the media.

I'm confused...I thought players with balls MADE clutch free throws

It looked like a kick to me and will get lots of attention but it will be forgotten by seasons end.

I thought James' push down on Bev and Mozgov's double hammer on Harden were worse, though.

Then there was James holding Harden off the ball, and then the no-call...

I think the discussion of this game won't be about basketball, which is how Lebron wants it considering how it ended for him.

Uh, no. They may discount the Rockets win because Irving didn't play(they'll ignore Dwight's absence) and LeBron's Nick Anderson impersonation, but I don't think you can ignore Harden's terrific overall performance, kick or no kick.

I'm looking at the replay now, there was basically nothing! Harden barely extended his leg. Honestly, it was more LeBron creeping closer to Harden than Harden "kicking". Sure, Harden did connect but nothing with any real force or intent to do harm. It looked more like a "back off me" tap.

Amazing game...And yes Harden did kick Lebron and rightly was fouled...but forget that he was totally mugged leading to him being on the floor on that possession. Furthermore, that no call against James when Lebron and Harden were interlocked was pathetic...travel, foul...something had to have been called there. People will point to Harden getting 18 plus FT attempts...but this MVP was attacking the rim every time. Harden played like the MVP.

Lebron...what the heck was that? missing so many crucial/clutch FTs...smh we got lucky, but then again Houston was an underdog at home :) (for the gambling freaks...:))
