Well I dont know about Derrick Coleman but I think Elden Campbell would be a great pick up for the Rockets, he can play power forward along side YAO...................They are both unrestricted free agents........

I wouldn't gamble on Coleman but I wouldn't mind picking up Campbell. He's a very good player but I doubt he will be had for the minimum and I doubt he will want to go somewhere he has to compete for playing time. He'll be looking for his last contract and probably wants a contract as expensive and lengthy as he can get.

Campbell has really faded and is getting very old. Unless we trade multiple bigs we don't need him because we are better 2 deep at both the 4 spot and the 5 spot. Now if we trade Cato, or both our 4s for a single better 4, then there is a place for Campbell.

I don't think Coleman can be had at a reasonable price. We want to add young or midcareer players in general anyway.

hmmm... clutch should take away a few points from your post count for mentioning coleman. the guy is like a slightly thinner version of oliver miller with the game of sedale threat (sp?).

elden campbell would be awesome though. otis "thorpey" kinda player. :D

    He's a very good player

Dude, are you talkin about Elden Campbell??????

Very good player and E Campbell definately don't go hand in hand

As far as salary, he'd be lucky to get somebodies exception

How about Bo Outlaw, he got 45 pts 9 boards and 6 blocks tonight in Summer league. He is a very high energy guy and great rebounder and shot blocker. Good sidekick for Yao. Probably could get him for minimum or a little more since he is from Houston.

The problem with Elden is that he has talent, but he is so damned inconsistent. He can go for 28 and 10 one night and then have a 7 and 4 night. I think he can definitely be a starting center for most teams, especially in the East, but I just don't see a lot of heart in his game. Don't even get me started on DC. I don't give a damn about how he's supposedly rehabilitated his image and reputation. I've always said he's probably the greatest waste of talent in NBA history, a guy who could've been one of the greatest PF's ever as far as talent is concerned, but who has done nothing but underachieve and malinger perpetually. He will burn in hell for wasting his God-given talent.

if either guy is still on the market after initial spending by the teams that have money, then the rockets should pursue. In either case it would be a short term (one-yr deal). much like dc w/ larry brown i think elden could be a strong player under jvg.
we all know mo t doesn't rebound, so the rox could use any frontline depth help.

Does anyone know Marcus Camby's status. The guy's never played more than like 65 games in a season. He's very brittle, but damn good when he's on the court. The Nuggets may want to trade him now that they have Hilario at C, and Tskita at PF. If Mo Taylor is playing well at the start of the season, I think it wouldn't be a bad idea to bring in Camby for a couple of years.

He's been one of the most reliable big men in the east for the past few seasons.

  13. I wouldn't mind getting Campbell, but Coleman sucks.
