Well good for Billy D. The only thing that impresses me about that is that he can play the piano. That would be a cool skill. Other than that, I stand by my assertion that he sure didn't seem witty or "urbane".

I know that homes is not an insult in general but it was in that case. It was done in a condescending fashion, just like when people tell an ugly old man "hey, whats up, playa". The use of playa is understood by all to be an insult. To summarize, I do not feel that the words he used were insulting, it was the way he used them. If you read that post and don't see condescension and smugness, you have no comprehension of the English language.

what are you talking about? do what stuff? have you read my posts? I have apoligized endlessly for posting that TJKidd thread, and just because someone gets work as a comedian doesn't mean that they are funny (see:Carrot Top).

If you enjoy this site, I suggest you employ some better manners. Seriously, this is the best site for information and discussion re: Houston Rockets. You DON'T want to lose access to all this hard work Clutch and crew have put together for FREE for all of us to peruse.

Off topic (which I think is a good thing in this case)... When did these new message icons that we can post show up?

Edit: Well it didn't show up, but there is a radio button group for "Message Icons" when you reply to a post.

Like mc mark said, personal insults are frowned upon here. Have you ever been to the espn.com boards? Those boards are down right horrible!! Basically here, like I've mentioned before, it is a free site. Take a look around at all the content and speed of access. This stuff costs someone money. But none, and I mean none of the costs are relayed over to the end users (us, duh.) So we try and help out Clutch and the other mods (who do this for free) by policing ourselves. It's a little bit different from other free-for-all boards out there, but it works. If you have a personal beef w/ someone, don't make it the board's business. Email him, or better yet, let it blow off your shoulder. We are all here for our love of the Houston Rockets, the people we get to interact with are just a bonus. Don't take things too seriously, and I think you'll be alright. Lastly, don't take offense to what you think is everyone ganging up on you, it's mob mentality I'll admit. But lately, there's beena lot of new posters adding garbage to the board, and I'm sure a lot of us take pleasure in seeing someone get the axe.

Hopefully I've explained why there's this perception of the 'courtesy police' and a couple of pointers to keep your access to this site. I, by no means, am a saint, but hell, every dog has it's day I guess.

Those have been there since Clutch opened this forum, even though they don't seem to do anything.

Calm down Joe. If you say something stupid, which you appear to admit you did, you're going to get made fun of. Everyone else here has gone through it. Get over it.

thanks for posting a well-thought out response. I agree that this board is much better than any other. especially dallas-mavs.com, they all think a Van Exel trade could bring Shaq or Duncan. My liking of this board is why I didn't want to get into a big insult war but AB wouldn't leave it alone even after I apoligized for the TJKidd post. Damn, I thought that post would just be a funny diversion, not such a big deal to everyone here. I regret posting it and wish that we could all let bygones be bygones.
