ClutchFans Game Thread: Clippers @ Rockets 2/25/2015

We win this one tonight. T Jones will play a big role in this one and our bench J Smith and C Brew will come up big. Harden can't have bad games against them everytime, so tonight he shows up.

I agree with some of you that James needs to guard Barnes. Let somebody else chase JJ through all those screens. They do that to James every game... tires him out.

I think they need this win to prove something to themselves. Make it a statement game.

Start Brewer and put him on CP, Ariza on Reddick and Beard on Barnes. Someone has to clamp down on Jordan & keep him off boards. Don't think any of PF (D-Mo, Smoove, TJ) are capable so Dorsey needs to go balls out.

 

And KJ on Crawford. This kid needs more minutes and we need to see if he will be a good fit.

 

I like that but would save it for a key playoff game...and throw Dorsey at Jordan until he gets 6 fouls. We definitely can beat that team.

 

Kevin McHale better have the balls to start Brewer, play Terry as a starter and watch us get toasted for 35+ in the 1st quarter and try to crawl our way back throughout the rest of the game.

 

Balls is right, McHale is terrified of ruining the chemistry and energy of second unit. Yet he has no problem with poor energy and chemistry of starting 5, especially at start of games when expected to set tempo.

Over reliance on Harden will bite us hard if Howard does not come back 100% in time for postseason.

 

As abysmal as Bev has been lately, I'd take him on CP3 10x out of 10. Jet will likely get worked.

 

My fear is coming true. Hopefully Bev plays

 

I'm talking when Beverley is out, which is very likely. Yup, putting Jet out there on CP3 or even Reddick would just be beyond stupid. Jet is much better off the bench and you can just sub out Brewer for Jet with about 4 minutes left in the 1st and slide Harden back to SG. Brewer has enough energy, so he can quickly come back in (start of the 2nd) for Ariza along with Josh and there you have your second unit!

 

It's less of a "likely" and more of a "100% absolute definite guarantee"

 

A must win game if we are talking about to win the all things in June.

 

Other than Bev, any one else unavailable for Clips game?
