Daniels (6' 4" PG?) would be fine, but I heard Pike may jet to Cleveland (front-runner) with Ollie. Even if Pike signs, what about PT for Rice and Boki? ...Pike put up Rice-like numbers last year and is around five years youger...

So, does this mean that Steve is moving to the 2, and Mobley is coming off the bench?

    Depth chart...

    1 - Daniels/Moochie
    2 - Francis/Mobley
    3 - Posey/Piatkowski/Rice/Boki
    4 - Griffin/Taylor
    5 - Yao/Cato

    Obviously overloaded at the 3.

Didn't realize this, but Piatkowski is the Clippers all-time franchise leader in career three-pointers made, attempted and percentage...for whatever that's worth...

I think both players are a good/subtle compliment to the rocks...other than Mobley coming off the bench...should not really challenge the team chemistry and just helps to solidify the nucleus.

Pike is mostly a shooting guard, although in very limited minutes he can play some 3 with a smaller line up. I would like to have Pike and/or Daniels.

    pg- Francis/Daniels
    sg- Mobley/Pike
    sf- Trash
    pf- Trash
    c- Ming/Cato

Don't get your hopes up. Whoever said that the Houston media never gets anything right was right on. I'd say they're both pipe dreams.

uhh, a career backup who just signed for half of the mle ain't pushing mobley to the bench. that much is certain.

it's kind of hard to type right now b/c i'm choking from the massive grain of salt i just took that news with. i for one will believe all this when i see it. a poster named Kick Azz posts something that apparently 740 said late at night and CD even mentioned they were shopping mobley (why would you do that if you're keeping the guy?). while i feel it would be great to not have moochie being the only guy backing up cat and steve but to actually have two guys doing it and both actually being nba-caliber players, like i said i'll believe they're splitting the mle and choosing us when it happens.

here's to Kick Azz/740 AM being right. of course, half the board just shot themselves in the face after hearing that mobley is staying. but i'm happy if it's true.

It would b fine if we could get one or both of them cuz I think it could solidify & stabalize the team! It's certainly better than the front office just watchin' the rich team gettin' richer & the poorer ones gettin' better!! I don't think there will b a major trade, who knowz, maybe I could be wrong;) :p !

I don't understand why are you guys so excited about Antonio Daniels and Piatkowski. :(

AD is a six-year veteran, but never averaged double figure scoring and basically s*ucks at the other department of the stats.

Pike is just VERY SLIGHTLY better at the stats. And there's nothing remotely spectacular about his FG% and 3P%.

So what's with all the excitement (even when it is still a rumor)?

Our backup guards are Moochie Norris and Juaquin Hawkins. Think about that.

    Werd.

Antonio D is no better than Moochie, stats wise at least.

Yeah I see Piatkowski will be an upgrade if he takes Moochie's minutes. But Mooch is a PG, while if we sign Pike it will be for his shooting, right? Pike will basically be backing up Rice and Posey?

I love Antonio Daniels game and his stats were low only because he was burried on a roster full of talent with Pip running the point with Stoudamire and not to mention sharing time with jeff Mac and at he two there was already D.A. Wells and Patterson. His (Daniels) game suits us perfectly and if we do indeed sign him I'm very excited.

It will add veteran depth. People who can play who have experience in the league. We'll no longer have to rely on young players like Tierre Brown/TMo or CBA'ers like Moochie/Hawkins.

5 yrs at $10M is only $2M a year for AD. if pike wants more than half the MLE it looks like he's getting it.

also- with the cap raised the MLE is up to $4.9M. i guess pike can take whatever the difference was there too.

I like Antonio Daniels, much better than Moochie, much better. I am still hoping to move CaT and slide Steve over to SG.

    PG-Daniels(yes he can start), Moochie
    SG-Francis, Piaksowski
    SF-Posey, Boki, Rice
    PF-Griffin, Taylor
    C-Yao, Cato

Now who could the Rockets get for Cat? I wish we could package Cat and Cato for something.

    I always thought him better suited as a 2 guard . . .

The order goes like this. We first sign daniels and/or Pike. THEN we have our contingency plan in place to trade Mobley.

    The dollars sound reasonable.

They don't keep stats on how many times a guy dribbles out the 24 second clock.

I think everyone is excited about signing two backups because this will allow Steve and Cuttino to play around 35 minutes a game instead of 40+. We've not been able to do this in the past because we haven't had a legit NBA Guard on the bench since they moved Shandon Anderson to the 3 and Mobley to the starting lineup.
