I know potential is a word thrown around here alot. But list youre top 3 PF who you think have the most potential that have not lived up to expectations. here are mine 1 eddie griffin: 2 stromile swift 3 kwame brown
Swift definately shows flashes. I am not sure if Eddie is in the top three though. Zach Randolph has shown more than Eddie has to this point, so I would put him in the top three. He has oodles of potential. Tyson Chandler as well, but he is listed as an FC, so I am not sure if he should be included.
There are quite a few young PFs who have potential but Swift has been doggin it for 3 years and never was dominant in college except against ****ty teams. I still hope that he becomes a good player but what is he waiting for? Same goes for Griffin but he showed me a lot more in college than Swift even though Swift might be a more prototypical PF. Other young guys (who aren't stars yet) that I like are: Chandler, Randolph, Boozer, Haislip, and the guy from Maryland, Wilcox.
I'm wondering if Melvin Ely will eventually turn into a reliable, Othella Harrington type guy. He can play both positions off the bench. I'm not saying he has the most potential (not by a long shot, actually), but he has the tools to be a nice player.

Maurice Taylor definitely belongs that lists. There have been times when Mo would single handedly provide a steady source of offense for the Rockets. He can hit jumpers, post-up, hook shot, free throws...he's great. At times he gets into foul trouble and is forced out of the game. If he can somehow play better defense, be more consistent, and avoid the fouls, he can definitely be an elite frontcourt player in this league

Sorry guys I took the question the wrong way. What I meant with Swift is that he has had the most potential but he hasnt done that much with it. Being the 3rd pick and all.

I'd go: 1. Kwame 2. Stromile 3. Tyson Chandler Maybe the lightbulb will go on for one or all of these guys next season. The way Kwame played early last season made me think that he had turned the corner, but he dropped from the Wiz rotation like a stone in favor of has-beens Oakley and Laettner. Tyson and Swift have flashed their potential, but all we get is a glimmer from those two. With 20/20 hindsight, I think Kwame was a stretch as the number one pick for sure.
I would have to say that Joe Smith belongs to this list. He has not done much in recent years and even Wolves that were highly valued of him do not need his service anymore...
Have you been following Wilcox this summer -- DEADLY! I would love to have him on our team. When Brand leaves the Clippers next year Wilcox will explode.
MarylandTerps: Chris Wilcox is a pogo stick!!! He is a decent rebounder who has 7-8 RPG potential, but he cannot box out, lacks a back to the basket game, plays defense with his hands, has no range on his jumpshot beyond 12-15 feet. He was a top 5 pick (I think), but IMHO, calling him a top 3 pick in terms of potential ignores the established talents of Amare Stoudamire and Zach Randolf, and the skills of less proven commodities such as (1) Darko, (2) T. Chandler, (3) E. Griffin, (4) K. Bosh, (5) Swift, (6) Kwame, and (7) D. Gooden. A fair order of potential is: (1) Stoudamire (he's proven that he's good, but last year was his rookie season; (2) Zach Randolf (a legitimate beast of an inside player; and (3) Drew Gooden (a player that has only failed to prove that he can put 3-4 good games together).
No paul gasol? no drew gooden? Why is eddie so high? Zach,Chandler,Amare,Gooden,Gasol, and even hybrid guys like AK-47 has more potential than eddie.
