So when various players perform poorly, we can't blame them because it's not their fault that the team doesn't run sets.

The team doesn't run sets but we can't blame McHale because the team simply isn't balanced enough in terms of playmakers and shooters.

Finally, the team isn't assembled in a balanced manner but we can't blame Morey because he can't make the players shoot the ball into the basket.

The McHale apologists are starting to sound like the lofs. It's always "players not hitting their shots! whats mchale suppose to do?", never the coach's fault.

The Rockets are probably one of if not the longest most talented team in the league. How many 6'8 or 6'9 guys that are athletic and able to switch? There's 7 of them on this team. Infact that's the advantage the Rox have against opposing teams night in and night out yet McHale doesn't have the ability to fully utilize it. Only reason why this team has 36 wins is on pure talent.

    Agree

If we can't shoot open shots, then we have to figure out a way to get more easy baskets. But Mcfail is incompetent to set up such strategy.

Van Gundy was a great coach. That is my recollection for both the Rockets and the Knicks.

He was a capable offensive coach but in Houston JVG was very stubborn sticking with the pound it into Yao inside philosophy. It was great in theory but didn't take into account all the flops and uncalled fouls Yao had to endure.

If McHale gets a 3-year extension despite accomplishing nothing in the postseason with this team, why would Morey's job be on the line? Believe me, I'm open to a change in direction on this ballclub if we wind up with another first round flameout. But the real obstacle is Les himself. He's obviously content with the job McHale is doing or else why extend him for 3 years so soon? And I'm not aware of any heat on Morey for the job he's done.

The only thing that'll light a fire under anyone's ass in Rockets management is the day Harden goes Dragic on them and publicly chastises their ineptitude and threatens to bolt. Of course if this team flounders several more years and fails to do anything in the playoffs, there won't be much of a fanbase left anyway.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the world..

    Blazers lost to Utah
    Atlanta lost to Toronto
    Spurs lost to Warriors
    Chicago lost to Detroit
    NO lost to Magic

Conclusion : Bud, Pop, Tibs , Monty has to go.

You don't get it do you? This wasn't some crazy fluke this has been a yearly occurance. McHale has no idea how to coach. He says the same cliche **** over and over again. His offense is so stagnant.

People camplain we don't have anyone who can drive. We could help that issue my having players run around and move and set screens. McHale runs a playground offense. Look no further than the Blazers comments last year after they beat us. I would love to be wrong but this team isn't a true contender. Hell I'll be impressed if we make it out of the first round.

When Ariza and Bev are struggling try new blood Mchale

Yeah, let's get some "new blood" in there during our playoff run! ksny15, please post your improved rotations, so we can FedEx them to Les Alexander ASAP.

What's new? McHale is a liability as a coach. He may have been a great player wbut he is a zero when it comes to coaching. He is the one holding this team back to a large extent along with Morey's flexibility

Yeah get him out of hear. He is the worst coach in nba history. Morey needs to coach this team.

There is zero reason why a guy like Papa who can create more offense is stuck on the bench while Ariza is shooting brick after brick killing our offense.

I think an iPad that spits out rotations and plays might be an improvement at this point.

So you want to replace Ariza with Papanikolaou. Anything else?
