As far as I'm concerned, there is no comparing Mobley & Kobe. Kobe is a consistent outside shooting threat while Mobley's shooting touch flicks in and out and often disappears for days on end. What the Lakers have done here is to put 4 guys on the floor who know how to play basketball and who all can score. They are like Dallas but with a real center. Dallas rolled into the conference finals with a high scoring team. Expect the Lakers to do the same.
Dallas is sweating bullets folks. Fans up here are close to panic. For all of their success in the past 3 years, they are an unbalanced team. They DESPERATELY wanted Mourning to be a bandaid for the hole they have at center. Unless something drastic happens, they will face the West with Shawn Bradley, Evan Ershmeyer & Rafe LaFrenz at center. Because of Mark Cuban's arrogant stupidity, they are stuck with these 3 bad contracts (Bradley - $6 million for 6 years; LaFrenz - $10 million for 7 years) and can only offer the exception ($4.5 million). They suddenly find themselves in the same boat as the Knicks and Portland which is not a good place to be. While the Rockets do have their share of bad contracts, they at least have big men who can play big. That's one thing for which we can all be thankful.
Kobe Bryant is a career 33% three point shooter. Mobley is at 36.6%. If Kobe is consistant and Mobley's shooting touch disappears for days on end, then Mobley must just be a much, much better shooter than Kobe when he is on.
Without a young Kobe Bryant, the Shaq-Malone-Payton tandem seems very familiar to a guy like me who watched the Dream-Barkley-Drexler Rockets fail to reach the finals. But when you throw Kobe in the mix, dang, that's a team!

hey, go easy on here, she's only at 49.83 posts per day now. and she's set a new record for fastest to become my most annoying poster. she takes over for YoYao, who surpassed sla/keep juaquin/insert other name i forget, but they took some weeks to get there. 1.75 days is a record that may never fall.
75-7 is far fetched, 64-18 is more realistic. all this talk is just being blown out of proportion. Yeah they got better with their roster, but the question still remains with Shaq's condition. Cause without him, they will NOT win a championship. As great as kobe is, the one person any team would choose to go to when trailing, if they had a choice of, would be Shaq. With all these superstars, it leads me to think that there will also be conflict with the ball handling.
Too much talent might spoiled the bunch. Don't overwhelmed, just be what you can be. Payton is starting to slows down, Malone can't play defense at least not as good as he was. Big diesel and the flirt boy will get their numbers. But they can still be beaten'!Straight up!
