Hopefully, this trade deadline punt was done so with the understanding that a big name like Deron Williams was going to get bought out, and that we would have the inside track to signing him. Hey, one can dream.....
If we are going after a buyout player, than it will be a big. There is a log jam at PG, SG, and SF. Not enough minutes
I hate Perk, but id love to sign him. I think Deron is a no brainer. That would get me feeling alright abiut the deadline.
Does anyone know if the money saved on the Shved deal can be applied to any player picked up off of a buyout?
Thing is I've heard no such rumor of them wanting to cut ties with D will. Only thing I've heard is there trying to get some salary space
Williams is owed around $45MM over the next two years, so I don't imagine he has any interest in a buyout.
That is too bad. Bulls and Cavs are front runners for Perkins once is bought out. Cut Dorsey and bring in Perkins. There are still a lot of minutes for our 4's.
Yeah I figured he wouldn't but if he got bought out isn't he technically gonna get paid that plus another team would sign him ?. Like josh smith.
So I guess he has to play overseas because he will be bitter with 50% of the NBA teams in the league. #TradedByEverybody
Bump, this is what we need to be talking about. The buyouts not how everyone is disappointed we didbt land a superstar
Morey and McHale have said in back to back interviews that there is very little chance they are going to pursue any of the buyout candidates.
I'm not saying DWill is going to be bought out or the Nets/DWill are even interested in it, but there is SOME benefit to a buyout. The Nets owner would save SOME money and DWill would get a chance to play for a contender and get off the team Codman says he hates. Why would the Nets do this? As of right now, the Nets are on the hook for the full amount of DWill's salary for the next two years and nothing but a trade can change that. The chances of DWill being traded decreases more and more every day as he gets older and his contract goes up. The Nets only hope here seems to be some team wishing to trade for him in the final year of his deal as a (very!) large expiring contract. If they are never able to do this, there is nearly ZERO benefit to not buying out DWill. The Nets would be able to pay him less (salary wise, not cap space) and they would get rid of a negative locker room presence while gaining an additional roster spot.
Dwight's coming back, I think that's obvious. Idk if he needs surgery or what but he's obviously holding off somethjng for these treatments and rest. My guess is he's sucking it up for playoffs.
