We have a really strong supporting cast on this team for Harden. Let's see if they can pick up the slack by community when Harden isn't going GodMode.
I told you so yesterday, you should pay more attention. Thanks to everybody who repped me. I am a little dissapointed we couldn't get Brandon Knight but I usually trust Morey with this things. I really like KJ Mcdaniels though. Peace
perfect, I love that pick up. Hopefully we can get it done, he's Dwight Kryptonite so it would be nice to have him playing 15 off the bench here rather than in LAC, who already owns us.
I am waiting for Morey to give us the Bill Belichick conference. Don't expect to get any really answers there. It may take until the off season to really learn what Houston was offering and why they missed out on players that they needed.
And you know...the fact that the Rox weren't on Dragic's list. I'd rather not trade for him than have him walk away in FA. Plus he's old, only big name pgs I wanted are IT, Try Lawson and Knight. Well knight got traded to Suns, IT got traded for Jackson and Lawson IIRc stayed put. I think all 3 of those pigs would have cost more assets to get than they were worth so men this is OK.
More worrisome is the fact that the Bulls, Cavs, and Clippers all seem to be moving in on Perkins. During the Josh Smith ordeal, the only name you heard coming from reporters was the Rockets. I know it doesn't mean much, especially since CyberX confirmed that Harden is pushing the Rockets on this one, but I'd still like to hear it from Woj that the Rockets are in the mix.
Yes you did, before it was widely publicized. I also noted it and credited you for it back then. Congrats and thanks for the input.
I don't believe Phoenix will take our picks over Miami's.... Also, a 3 month rental. Does Dragic make us a contender? A lot depends on Howard's knee condition. You don't mortgage so much on a chance. For all we know, Dragic and Harden can't play together cohesively. After all, Dragic's issue was he wanted a team to be his own.
That's a ridiculous of a comment as any in the 16+ years I've been around here. I'm bummed as much as the next guy that we weren't able to land Lawson, Dragic or even a player of Knight's caliber. I don't think Dragic really wanted to come back here and figuring out a way to pay him in the offseason would've been a pain. Obviously Denver's asking price was too high for Lawson and or they plan to keep him as part of the rebuild process. Knight would've been nice but he doesn't move the needle to where it needs to be by any means. I'm most irked that Bev will continue to be the starting PG. That being said... With Dwights uncertainty to return this year let alone play at the high level he needs to play in order for us to contend ... it would have been very foolish to have blown our wad on anybody that was realistically available and or moved to other teams today. You blow assests to acquire guys like James Harden and you make moves to have room to bring in players like Dwight Howard. You don't overpay for guys like Parsons etc. You DO sign players for pennies on the dollar when they became available like Josh Smith, sign players at a reasonable deal like Ariza and jump on deals like the one for Brewer.
Ennis and Carter-Williams for a team that's trying to stay young and build with potential? There's not much better and Ennis is a potential sleeper PG for them. In fact, it's one of the reasons that Dragic wanted out (Suns drafting Ennis)
The Rockets were not the only team you heard linked to Josh Smith but they were always mentioned as the front runner.
Yup. Plow needs to stick to posting opinions on the Rockets, please no more "insider" info from him. Not that I believed a word of what he had to say in the first place anyway.
If we're being honest with ourselves - plow came in and sprinkled some hope on us when we were all pretty low this offseason. And it helped create this epic-ass thread. And if we're also being honest with ourselves, Morey could have legitimately had Goran if Goran didn't come with that preferred destinations list. If you remember, he was saying all season that he would consider Houston (and all other teams) in the offseason.
