If you have been following this rockets squad closely, you will know where we need to upgrade. As the title says we need to make a move for more talent or move for a player with a certain skillset that we need. STAT to the Mavs, now Afflalo to the Blazers. Those players could eventually mean whether they get past a round in the post season, they are those kind of players. Everytime our rivals improve we need to one up them, that is how the NBA works in today's game.

What the rockets need: A real starting point guard with either great all around offense or strictly a play maker ( Rubio type ), a real back center ( 6'11 or taller), and a 3 point specialist.

    Discuss.

Harder to acquire a starter than an impactful bench player

feels we get to this point every year, and morey starts to get stagefright... he becomes too attached to his assests

bev is not the answer, hell we should be trying to trade him

Do people even look at the GARM anymore to check if their thread idea is being discussed already?

Excellent thread, five stars! The idea of the Rockets making a trade has not been discussed on this forum lately.

So what you're saying is that you think we should make a trade to improve the team?

Hmmm. Interesting concept. I hadn't thought of that before.

1st time I've ever heard that in reference to Morey. If there's any GM in the league who "becomes too attached to his assets" it's definitely not DM....lol

Are we talking about the same morey that had a Tmac and Yao combination for years and did not bother to upgrade the team at all to support them? ON top of that they barely played? That guys reference is exactly how Morey operates. I would say Morey would officially break that way of operating the Rockets if he makes a move before the deadline.

To the extent that we suffered from insufficient talent around Mac and Yao - it was not bc of any player bond from management. Lol

Rockets Fans, I get it, I don't need the entire forum telling me how I should have discussed this on another thread.

Everyone is talking Point guards which we do need desperately, how about some discussion on potential bigs that could be beneficial to us? Do you realize how big of an asset it is to have a decent back up big, 6'11 or bigger, in todays NBA? You see plenty of small forwards play power forward, you see plenty of power forwards who play center, small ball is a trend for the NBA right now. As well as a quick 3 point specialist pick up, even from free agency? Do you guys realize that the Rockets struggle to keep a big lead? We could be up by 18-25 points then win the game by 6 or 8. We need that 3 point specialist that when the game because more of a pick up( when a team has a big lead ) there is that specialist who gets the wide open looks and knock them down almost at will destroying the other team even more.

No we do not, we need to play the guys that are buried on the bench over old tired warn out vets like Terry.

Play Canaan - and we are complete.

The few times Canaan plays, all he does is chuck up shots. If someone barely plays, you would want them to do everything they can to prove they can play and contribute to an already great team. I don't see the passion Canaan, either because he is tired of being benched or because he simply does not have it in him. He is not going to get playing time if he had a couple of good games in the past chucking up shots and them going in, take a look at troy daniels. You need to bring more to the table, this is not your local gym.
