didnt know where to post this and just wanted to see if anyone else was in a similar situation.
A family friend, also an iranian kid, is going to Stanford this summer for college. He's 16 and got accepted to their summer college program but his parents aren't exactly wealthy. His mom and mine were good friends and Iran and for a few years, they were basically my parents. But the dads a landscape architect and the mom works at a bank. Nevertheless, he needs about 5,000 dollars by March 11th. Idk how he can do that but I wanted to see if anyone in clutchfans has been through, or knows someone who's been through, a similar situation.
    Thanks.

Maybe he can try finding a job? 16 is old enough to work.

Can't he borrow money from the bank that his mom works at? Maybe he can get low interest rates because of it.

I'm sure a school like Stanford would have some kind of special scholarship for this type of thing

Have him write a well thought out letter to the president of the college. My girlfriends son was going to utmb college of medicine in galveston, and the college would ususally fund the summer programs. His last year, for some reason, they didn't fund him, but after he wrote that letter, the president of the college took care of it. He is now finishing his last month of residency and is has already signed on to be a full time ER doctor in June when he completes his residency. Good luck to your friend.

I need some money also. paypal or wire transfer only. It's a sad story. I'm going to need about 17k. Can you guys get this done before like 2pm? I mean I guess I can wait longer but hopefully if that's the case you guys can up it to 20k for the inconvenience of waiting a while longer. PAYPAL OR WIRE TRANSFER ONLY. NO PERSONAL CHECKS.

Not true; he can get into (legal) sales and make serious cash. If he's desperate enough he will hustle.

Is he starting college at Stanford or doing a 3-4 week summer school program (like https://summerinstitutes.stanford.edu/high-school)? If it's the latter, I think he would struggle finding student aid/loans for that given that it's a completely voluntary, almost luxury program. If it's the former, I would be highly surprised if Stanford couldn't/wouldn't do more to waive this cost.

I knew a couple dudes who went to college at 16. Smart guys. Took them about 10 years to graduate.

This was my first thought. Surely, if Stanford admitted a 16 year-old, they'd be able to help with $5K.
