Morey got him Dwight in his second season with us. He has no reason to be disgruntled because they're missing out on role players.
I could be wrong, but didn't someone post some stats not too long ago showing that Bev actually had the ball more/longer than Harden?
Assuming that everything being leaked is true. It's likely that most of it is posturing, i.e. what the negotiating parties want the other to think. You wouldn't tell the media what your real intentions are otherwise you lose all leverage and you lose the negotiation. I believe that Houston is still a possibility and that this is a way of upping that price. They are one of the only contending teams with a nice package to send to Phoenix.

Sounds like Rockets, as you'd expect, aren't ready to surrender on Dragic pursuit even amid strong word Dragic doesn't want to sign there
— Marc Stein (@ESPNSteinLine) February 18, 2015
I guess they're still "in it" but on the outside looking in. 2 of his 4 'preferred' teams don't have the assets or aren't trading them: LA and NY. Check back in free agency. His 3rd team, Miami, I guess there is some talk of trading Deng for Dragic. Phoenix interested? Who knows. Not sure of their cap space this summer. His 4th team, Indiana, apparently don't have the assets to trade for him. Not sure of their cap space this summer. Then you have the Celtics, Kings and Rockets reportedly willing to trade for him with no assurances. Celtics have some assets/picks(but are they willing to part with them?) and the Suns GM previously worked in Boston, for whatever that's worth. Don't think the Kings have the assets but never rule anything out with Vivek! And then the Rockets.
Harden's had Dwight sign here. Ariza sign here. Terry get traded for. Brewer get traded for. Smith sign here. Other than Parsons and Bosh, where have the Rockets been stiffed the last few years? Harden wants to win. I'm pretty sure he wants teammates who want to win. Melo wanted the glamor of NYC and a max deal. Parsons wanted to get paid and become a star. Bosh wanted to get paid without having the burden of delivering a title. If Dragic is from the same camp and is more interested in a big market and dominating the ball rather than winning championships, then let him go to the Lakers or Knicks. You don't spend 20 mil a season on a guy like that.
Right everyone always acts like he is trying to help us.... Lirerally extracts the maximum value possible at everything lol
If Dragic comes to Houston, everything will not remain equal. He's not just going to replace Beverley's usage. Others will defer to him. He will get his shots.
If said "rules" were prominantly posted or otherwise easy to find, you might have a point. I looked. Nothing in FAQ and I don't have permission to use the search function. Why is my rookie status relevant, especially when it's not clear how to lose that status? So I don't post often. So what? If people like you would stop being an ass and attempt to be more helpful, that would be great.
His aGent doesnt give a damn. Hes the one who leaked it. Wants to make sure dragic is traded where he desires so no drama with pr over leaving and also no problem with his other client poor bev. They screwed suns over.
I don't see why any of those bad teams would give up assets for a rental of Dragic. Only a playoff team would do that.
Hard to know at this point, but I do believe he would control the ball more on the Rockets than he does with PHX. 1) All of Ariza and Beverley's non catch and shoot opportunities would go to Dragic. 2) When Harden sits (about 12-16 minutes a game), the ball will be under Goran's control. 3) DMo has never been one to demand the ball. 4) The coaches were talking to Howard about doing more PnRs and less post ups before he got injured. IMO, getting Dragic puts everyone in their proper role with minimal sacrifice required. He wouldn't be in the same position as Bosh, who had to change a lot of his game to fit in with Lebron.
Rox - give up Dmo, Bev & pick- But Get Dragic, and Lopez Pho gets Dmo & pick Bkn - gets Bev, and maybe Green??? - I'm not sure about salaries & how Dwill could fit in this.. Anyway, I just wanted an opinion and insight into if this could even work. Many Thanks.
The stat I'd look at is Usage rate. Harden is #7 in the league. Josh Smith is also in the top 40. The Suns only high usage player is I. Thomas who is in the top 50. Harden is a high usage player, and will continue to have the majority of the plays run through him for very, very good reasons. What Dragic represents is someone who can be a Harden substitute when Harden is off the floor, or if he gets injured.... again... similar to what Lin was last year for the Rockets. Dragic can play off the ball well sure as can Harden, but let's be honest about the Rockets offense for a split second. What do you guys really think Goran's role will really be with the Rockets? Do you really want to lock in 5 year MAX money for a player that is basically doing what Lin did last year but a little bit better? I'm not trying to deter anyone from wanting Goran Dragic... trust me I want him BAD. However, there is merit to passing on him for a better long term solution that allows the team to continue to build a team into the future post-Dwight prime years. Dragic this year, and next is awesome. Goran in 3 to 4 years making 20mil per scares the beejesus out of me.
James has been awesome for us. I feel he will be somewhat unhappy if the PG spot isn't upgraded by the beginning of the next season.
Right. Like if you're the Lakers, why would you give up one of your few good players when you could just take your chances in free agency? And if you're Dragic, why would you want your future team to do that?
