If it's a team with cap space, it doesn't really help Dragic to do a sign and trade. He's getting the same contract either way - 4 years. Would the Rockets help him in a S&T if he wanted to leave [to say a team without cap space]? I don't know.
Hey bro, I was once a BIG Morey critic, but over the years I've come to respect how goes about his business. It's never personal with Morey. It'll be interesting to see what he comes up with.
I gotta ask, is it really worth giving a 28 year old (29 at the time of signing) Dragic a 5 year MAX deal, assuming he'd want to resign with us? I'm not saying thats not his market value, someone would give it to him I'm sure, but wouldn't that tie our hands cap wise for quite a while? Will he still be as good when he's 33?
Really can't trust ANYTHING Stein says about the Rockets given he's essentially a Mark Cuban employee. I can see even the pettiest motivations making it into his reporting. He could be telling the truth, and he is otherwise a decent reporter, but when it comes to Rockets... he's just trying to make Morey's life difficult.

I don't think the rockets need to give anyone else a max contract no matter who it is. Unless the Dwight injury is a lot worse than they are leading us to believe, the rockets only need a decent PG to help run the offense. Dragic is pretty much pricing himself out of the market.

Morey making the move would be enough I believe... Dragic wants him to make that commitment. Jones/Terry NO Pick with MAX extension and no trade clause gets it done We are win now with Dwight and then our future will be Dragic/Harden
I fully expectedthis about the kings. All the teams that need a Pg basically are after Dragic now..in FA. Kings, Miami. La, NY, Indy. Maybe Charlotte will start leaking next about interest.
Was thinking this very thing earlier today. Would make a lot of sense there, would definitely move the needle for them, but will a fringe all-star point guard be enough to get Cousins, Gay, Mclemore and co. in to the playoffs? I don't think so, but who knows.
