Lol. Would rep if possible. He could, if he knew or cared. Morey has nothing to do with the marketing dept. I promise. I doubt the marketing dept. consulted at all with anyone on the basketball side of operations. It's not selling tickets on false pretenses. People realize transactions can happen. I'm sure in the official rules there is a clause that protects them. What if DMo gets sick, or hurt, or otherwise can't fulfill the promise? You guys expect the marketing department to just go into a holding pattern until after the deadline? No, they will continue about there business as usual, and I highly doubt they know anything about Morey's plans. Come on guys, you're grasping at straws. Don't read anything into the marketing dept. doing their job.
I tend to believe there's something significant to the Rockets advertising DMo twice within the last few days, just as I also think there's more to Beverley and KPap being chosen to participate in All-Star weekend.
Maybe cyberx is the Rockets marketing department tweeter and Morey keeps giving him all the inside info without realizing he's posting it on Clutchfans
That happens all the time in sports. The last one I can remember was Thomas Robinson was supposed to meet some fans before he was traded to us, but it's probably happened more recently in the NBA.
Yes, he involves the marketing department in all trade discussions so they don't risk having to cancel a bobblehead night.
I agree. Every little thing that goes on with the Rockets organization goes through DM's office. Daryl checks off that Melo wears the number 7 jersey on the poster in the hallway. He has a lot more control (well deserved) than we believe him to have.
How about 2 trades: 1st Trade: Houston In: Jarrett Jack Houston Out: Jason Terry Brooklyn In: Jason Terry Brooklyn Out: Jarrett Jack 2nd Trade: Houston In: G. Dragic, Z. Dragic Houston Out: Papa, Shved, Capella, (maybe Rockets' 1st and NY 2nd) Phoenix In: Brook Lopez, (NY 2nd maybe) Phoenix Out: G. Dragic, Z. Dragic, G. Green Brooklyn in: Papa, G. Green, Shved, Capella, (future Rockets' 1st maybe) Brooklyn Out: Brook Lopez With both trades, Brooklyn clears off 22 million for all expirings or teams options except Capella, putting their team in a better position to be sold. Phoenix gets their big Man and can still make another move if desired. And of course we get our PG without having to give up Dmo, TJones or the NO 1st, but have to give up 2 picks, maybe more, since both Phoenix and Brooklyn are still getting value for their assets that help them. Does this make sense for anyone else? G. Dragic/J. Jack/P. Bev/Canaan Harden/N. Johnson Ariza/Brewer DMo/Smith/Jones Howard/Dorsey Maybe we can also package Bev and/or Canaan/Johnson/Dorsey with the NO 1st and any trade acceptions for a backup for Harden and/or Howard.
Out of all of the departments that are not basketball ops, the marketing department is privy to the most information, they know things before the public does, that doesn't mean they know here but they are in the loop often.
Doc Rocket has alluded to Milwaukee more than once with Henson and "cough cough" who has to be Sanders. The Sanders buy out issue could be complicating and/or holding things up, but could work in our favor.
The marketing department in Cleveland knew about Lebron coming back earlier than most other insiders.
It might but as has been stated many times on this board, Morey runs tight ship as far as leaks go. If he were to all of a sudden cancel this promotion, chances are it would get out and people would know something was about to go down. I don't think he would risk that.
