Unlike a lot of you guys, I'd be happy with Jackson. He does need to get himself under control, but the talent is absolutely there, and having a 7' wingspan at 6'3 gives him the potential to be a defensive monster.
If Jones came back a little sooner and came back like he played in 2014, this deal might have been done with Shved, Jones and the NOP pick for Dragic and Plumlee. I can see the hesitancy of PHX to get Jones and would like Dmo back instead. Morey would want to give Jones up instead of Dmo and this is where talks have slowed down.
I'd prefer proven right now. But I agree Jackson has a ton of potential. He's just annoying from an opponent standpoint. Kinda like Bev to others
He's an insider who always posts cryptic things like that. I'm not sure if any of his recent ones have actually "come true" though. I think the common opinion is that he used to have a lot more connections than he does now.
"@dmorey eyes R in left field: T Harris, A Bennet, G Dragic, etc...I sell the farm 4 Harris. Can't keep Capella & TJ..they're too dumb." -- Doc Rocket tweet from 11/29/14
Good P&R offensive center especially with shooters, but he might be the worst defensive center in the league, and doesn't play well with other paint dominant bigs. Give me 6 hard Joey Dorsey fouls, a couple good offensive rebounds, and the potential for Capela to come on late in the 2nd half of the season over Greg Smith. The best case scenario that can happen for the Rockets backup 5 woes right now is if Capela can get up to speed in a short period of time to guard the paint for 10 to 15 minutes a night. Its asking alot, but he's got the physical tools and talent. Its really just a matter of time, and time is not on the Rockets side as the need vs time factor is surely causing stress to get him acclimated ASAP.
I interpret Doc's tweet as Morey will continue to publicly pursue Dragic, while he gets closer to swiping Ty Lawson. Reggie Jackson is the backup plan C
If Morey gets Ty Lawson then the Rockets would be championship contenders. Lawson will have allstar productive games next to Harden.
Sam Amick in a radio interview said that Dragic rep will meet with the Suns later this afternoon! Kinda weird considering all the chatter already...
How about something like (RFA)Brandon Knight/Henson/etc to Houston; (RFA)Tobias Harris+Ridnour to Bucks and assorted assets to the Magic?
The Rockets are ~850k below the tax line. I am interested to see if this effects our plans at all. Les has always seemed willing to pay to win, so I would assume it wouldn't effect anything at all.
Hope so too. Denver does APPEAR more open to trading, although more teams are inquiring about T-Law this week.
Itis not the first time in a while we are in the PO actually Bucks are the epitome of "8th seed or bust" threadmill team along with Atlanta. Hammond extended an offer sheet to Teague just last year and we were pursuing Bledsoe. Furthermore there have been articles in press with quotes from GM, coach, owner that question the place of Knight in the core. I'm not saying that Knight will be actively shopped but if a very good offer came it could happen. He is not the best player even right now. Right now he is the third. Knight won't be traded because he is a FA. If he is traded is because of fit and the emergence of a better SG on the roster. He is not needed.
One guy today is Goran Dragic. His reps are meeting with Phoenix in a couple of hours. He will be a free agent. Suns concern is losing him for nothing. They can trade IT and send a message to Goran that you're our guy. No promise though. If Dragic says he'll re-sign, they could move IT then. His whole thing is interesting.
