They're in love with Len. I highly doubt they trade him even if we offer D Mo. Our best bet is to keep D Mo out of negotiations and hope they budge on something like Jones, Papanikalaou, and the pick.
Sounds to me like the Suns already have the deal lined up with the Rockets and are making 1 desperate last ditch effort to find someone else. My guess is Morey made a K-Pap, Shved, NOP pick offer with a hard deadline sometime tomorrow when Shved can be traded. Then Morey has a firm backup plan if the Suns balk.
I really don't see how they come out of this situation winners if they hold on to Dragic. Your prize for keeping him is paying him $16-20MM on a team that has no shot at a title. It's like the Rockets giving Lowry a huge contract in 2012 instead of trading him for the Raptors pick. Take some young talent and a pick and find yourself a star. The Pelicans pick+the lakers pick could get you a real star this off-season or the next year whether it is through the draft or through a trade.
Man enough, please stop all this delusion. Dragic is not worth the MAX in any aspect of that word. In the event we can get him on the cheap, and somehow have him opt in for $7.5 million in 2015-2016, then I guess it is worth a shot. I also do not mind renting him for 4 months, if the price is right. In the event Rockets want to go all in, I highly prefer Lawson over Dragic, as he is the better player, just a bit shorter. 18 and 10 in a system he would thrive in. BB
Max offer should be Jones, K-Pap and the Pelicans pick. Try to get hold onto the Pelicans pick, if you can. Substitute that pick with the NY 2 rounder, and another 2nd rounder.
If Cousins ever becomes available it will not be until the Summer. They are going to give Karl at least half a season to work with him.
Something to consider: Goran Dragic has only been in the playoffs 1 time his entire career-- in 2009-10, when he played 15 mpg as a 2nd year player. His team has finished in 9th place in the West 4 times during his 6 year career. I wonder if a factor in Goran's decision as a free agent is being a major player on a really competitive team with other elite teammates. Maybe PHX will argue that he should stay and have them build such a team around him, but who knows whether that happens or not. PHX has been pursuing a bunch of big name free agents (including LeBron James and others this summer) but no one really gave them a 2nd look despite the Suns having more than sufficient cap room to pay the max salary.
Not really. Boogie for Dragic, Len, Goodwin Ennis and the LAL and Suns pick is the best offer the Kings can get. Realistically.
I agree that the Suns FO is delusional, but somehow I think that Vivek is considering it... if this goes through, I'll be ashamed for a day to be Indian
Thanks for the info cyberx. Sounds pretty wild, but you've earned your stripes. Phoenix pipe dreaming and SacTown would be crazy to do it, but I guess that's what Houston is up against. (at least the mentality that Phoenix has)
