My brother writes for a site and he recieved an e-mail today from someone claiming to be an insider from the Rockets. The e-mail said something like this... and GOSH it sux! "I was up at Westside and I heard JVG approve a deal sending Mobley and Rice to Dallas for Michael Finley and Shawn Bradley" LOL...How funny is that? I have a hard time believing one...we would want Shawn Bradley for anyone and two, we would trade in our own division. Isnt JVG at the summer league anyway? Like I said it is just a "wannabe insider" I suppose. This is more for humorous purposes then anything. Take care guys.
While Bradley is a joke, Finely is one of the most underrated players in the league - an absolut stud! Clearly and upgrade over Cat. Don't think it will happen though.
You might want to check the message boards at this site. Someone said something very similar in response to a thread entitled "Rockets". Apparently somebody wanted to talk about the Rasheed Wallace thing Steven A. Smith started and some dude who calls himself "moron12" responded with this ridiculous idea. I wouldn't dignify this with a second thought. http://www.fanstop.net/nbaboards/index.cgi?read=6187
I would take Finley over Cat any day. The guy has no weakness in his game. But why would the Mavs do it? It's not like Cuban really cares about cap space.
The numbers that Finley puts on a nightly bases are going to be stronger than the Cat. I like the Cat but his game is limited . Its going to be hard for him to except JVG's rule. This kind of trade may be what we need to make it to the playoffs. TRADE ACCEPTED !
Why are you wasting your time at those other silly NBA sites anyway? This one is the only one that matters.
I think this trade upgrades the Rockets, but not to the extent that I hoped Rice's contract would help us. But still, can you imagine a 1-2-3 of Francis, Finley, and Posey? I'd like that! And to be able to have a frontcourt of Cato-Bradley-Yao-Griff makes the frontcourt very tall. If for some reason Dallas would do it, I'd give it the thumbs up! P.S. I like Mobley and don't want to see him leave, but Finley is a near all-star. He is the key to this trade.
this would be a good trade for the rox in the short term, but I don't know about long term. however, the knicks are supposedly interested in bradley, if the rox could turn him and taylor into sprewell, they would have this line-up: Steve Finley Sprewell Griffin Yao 6th Man Posey That would definitely be a very nice line-up. The only way I would make that first trade is if I had a deal worked out to ship Bradley somewhere for more than Rice's expiring contract can bring. Finley is better than Mobley but I think Cat is a few years younger, although I haven't checked their ages. Also, Finley makes much more than Cat. Why would Dallas make that trade though? Its not like it puts them over the top in the west. If they trade Fin it will likely be for a big man.
I like Finley but that guy makes a lot of money and his stats compared to Mobley are very comparable not to mention that Bradley has 4 years left on his contract. So... real or not just say no to this trade.
Sprewell, Finley AND Steve?? Wow. There won't be enough balls to go around to keep them all happy. BTW, what happened to trying to increase Yao's touches? How is that supposed to happen when we are bringing in players that have a history of more touches than Mobley?? PS - Why did J-Dub bother posting this trade if he thought it was a bunch of crap?? You sure this isn't YOUR idea?
