I'm confused those stats are wrong for both players. Parsons is at 14 something points and dragic is at 16 something.
I whole heartedly disagree with this. Gerald Green, PJ Tucker, Marcus Morris are all giving them very good to quality minutes outside of Goran, Isaiah and Eric. No one outside of James Harden would represent a significant upgrade to that group. Ariza is probably the best of all the defenders but PJ Tucker is no slouch and although Gerald Green is having a bit of an off year, he is probably the best offensive weapon among all of them including Ariza and Brewer. They have some potential with there bigs but nothing too exciting. Alex Len I think has a bright future but last season I thought that player was Plumlee and he hasn't exactly materialized. Currently their two best bigs are Markief and Wright and neither one of them are really starting material. Phoenix is in Dire Need of starting quality bigs.
Parsons is at 15.6 and Goran is at 16.2. The Rockets offense would be better with either of them. But the truth is, IMO, that Gogi is the better player on both ends of the court.
The truth is that the Suns are just like the Rockets 4 years ago. Lots of good players. No one elite. They don't *need* any position. He need star players. Change Dragic to Harden and they'd be in our spot in the standings. That's why I can't imagine they're not trading Dragic. Morey got his star by cashing in our good players for picks and picks for Harden. Phoenix has to be doing the same thing. For example, if say Cousins goes on the block next year, the Kings aren't going to want 30yr old Dragic or IT back. They'd much rather have prospects or picks.
finally play their rookies? Goodwin and Ennis? There will be no cap smoothing afterall so if Dragic goes for a max this summer suddendly his max isn't as horrific as I first thought.
Alex Len has really emerged as their future answer at the 5 position. Markieff Morris improved by leaps and bounds. Every other big on their roster is moveable. Although Len and Markieff are good bigs, none of them - and no other big on Phoenix's roster - has a reliable post game. Part of the reason why their halfcourt offense is horrid.
Suns need a pf the most I think. You also have to consider that the Morris partners in crime will be suspended internally or by the league for a few (or many) games. The case is still ongoing.
Suns play small ball because they do not have a big man. Almost any NBA team needs bigs, The bigs are better.
And obviously they have capped out at this point playing small ball. They realize to get better they need to get rid of a pg
If Markief Morris is your starting PF then you need an upgrade. His defense is not great at all, his rebounding (like DMo or worse) sucks, his offense is solid but he is not a go to player on that end. Markief is a nice player with real NBA value and he has improved but if he were on the Rockets we would be screaming about him like we scream about TJones. I like Alex Len and think he has a chance to be a really good center in future years. I felt that way about Plumlee last season. Maybe they both turn out to be good maybe they are what they are. Who knows. I would like either of them but not as a starter.
They already have two point guards that are taking up a significant amount of their cap space for the next couple of years. This leads me to believe that they aren't going to cash out dragic in the offseason if he is to remain with the team. Instead of losing him for nothing, it only makes sense that dragic should be traded, and the rockets have the means and motivation! NOP first, capela, t jones for gogi and plumlee
He can't even talk stats... He just invented them! Parsons has never averaged 17ppg, and definitely isn't this season.
I think the Suns leaked only wanting a first round pick to drum up interest and create a bidding war.
Yes, that is what I think it will take Pappa, NO1st for Dragic.....pretty good deal.....for both. As Dragic is expiring. DD
