Her husband wants $400, she wants $200. They would be selling me a new one, not the one in the picture, but it's the same thing.

I offered her $100 and her husband got reaaaally offended, lol. Btw, it's imported from Asia.

So they basically sell all of those things regularly? Ask how much for the sake things.

The sake set? I didn't even notice it, had to check the picture again. I'll ask, but she's slow responding to my messages. I don't know if they sell those things regularly, because the place I took the picture in is in a restaurant, not a retail store.

She told me the sake set isn't for sale.

She said $40. If you still want it, I'll pm you their location.

If you want it, pay the 200. If you don't, it's not worth the trouble even at 100. You'll just end up throwing it away or putting it in storage at some point anyway.

    200 doesn't sound too bad.

Say you bought it from a destitute villager and flip it to a rich white couple for 500

    I concur, $200 seems reasonable.

$200 is a bargain. You should purchase 2 units.

I would charge her $200 to haul it to the dump.

Joking, and as Jontro said. You should purchase two units.

This is why you should just walk away from the deal. He wants $400 and gets emotional about the price. Since you're friends with her family, he may always carry a grudge. Not worth it to lose a friend.

Isn't everything? Honestly, I place more value on a piece of wood furniture made in the USA.

First off.. No way, never would have guessed that was made in "Asia"... That thing REEKS of the Orient.

On a more serious note, do you even want it?

You already have a pissed off Husband that wanted $400 (which he isn't that close of a family friend if he wanted to screw you by a minimum of $200).

If you value the friendship, you either pay the $200 or move on.

Personally I think it looks like a prop from The Karate Kid, but if you like it, pay the $200 and move on... Just be prepared for her to try to sell you more crap.
