You already have a pissed off Husband that wanted $400 (which he isn't that close of a family friend if he wanted to screw you by a minimum of $200). If you value the friendship, you either pay the $200 or move on. Personally I think it looks like a prop from The Karate Kid, but if you like it, pay the $200 and move on... Just be prepared for her to try to sell you more crap.
