I think that the Rockets should offer John Stockton their whole MLE for two years. He would be the perfect backup to Steve and the pick and roll w/ Yao would be devestating. He could show the rox guards how to play with a big man. He did say he was retiring but he didn't seem like he was 100% sure he wanted to. Maybe the chance to play with Yao and Steve instead of a rebuilding Jazz team would make him reconsider. They could offer him an assistant coaching position after the two years as well.
Its worth a try, is all I'm saying. Don't you think that he would help? The worst he could do is say no. Jordan did come out of retirement for a different team, so maybe Stockton would at least consider it. I know that its wishful thinking, but you have to admit that it would be nice.
I realize that no one likes the Jazz but Stockton is very, very good and he is the best in NBA history at the pick and roll, which the Rox badly need to improve on.
