GM's, agents, writers, everyone is there... OWNERS are there too. Theres usually owners meetings etc.
And do you feel with Babby's latest comments, Phx is seriously considering moving him and attempting to get the best offers possible before deciding? That's the way things look anyway.
wHAT? The Lakers are actually offering him the actual max? Uh oh I don't know who else will offer that much 80/4 Maybe it's a play to pressure a trade? Because with this offer it is likely he will end up there in FA.
As you read... The Lakers are going to offer him a max deal. I said that a while back as well. IF they know that and DO NOT plan on paying him the max, its likely he will be traded.
Every NBA writer thinks the Rockets are lusting after Gogi that means it won't happen. It's the print version of commentator's curse.
Didn't know that Cyber. Thanx. Always interesting to learn what actually happens behind the scenes. I bet the cheap Suns owner will have a LOT of input in this. Especially now that Lakers say they will offer him the actual max!
no doubt! But is it actually the truth or a play? Because the actual max? I thought he would go for 15-16 per. That's too much for the Suns no doubt! Maybe for the Rockets as well! Everything Dragic has said -from his agent instruction I bet- is he will check FA and give everyone equal chance. Is it true though that the Lakers will offer that much or is it a play to pressure a trade and make them desperate. If the lakers offer the actual max bird rights mean have lower value unless the team he is traded to can make an equal monetary offer PLUS more years.
If the Lakers are really going to pay Goran the max then I think we should consider other alternatives. Goran's max is going to start somewhere between $17 million and $19 million next season. He's a 7-year vet eligible for the higher max figure. That's $75-85 million over 4 seasons. Bledsoe just signed for $5/70, Kemba Walker and Lowry just got 4/48, Rubio got 4/55. If Lakers pay 4/75-85 they are overpaying. Let them have him at that price. Let's get a really good point guard for less than or equal to market value. Just another reason why I keep saying Morey will gladly give up more assets for Rubio or Bledsoe. They're already signed, sealed, and delivered.
well I didin't know that so I thanked him for telling. Notice he capitalised the Owners. Why? Because the Suns owner is notoriously cheap. Now with this shocking news : 1) Dragic value becomes SIGNIFICATLY lower but ONLY for teams with actual cap space. NOT the Rockets. His value will be so low to the actual point of a first round pick or less imo. 2) The Rockets either will NOT pay nothing or if they commit in Dragic they will become more desperate because the one and only chance someone will have in summer to get him will be via bird rights. The Lakers are completely and utterly insane. They have brought the market of Dragic upside down with this new rumour.
Dont think the Lakers will even bother going after him this year.. No reason to.. Why add on wins? Tank 100%
Lakers offering the max just sounds like it's crushing Dragic's trade value to me, unless they acquire him now. So we rent Dragic for a year and give up even less than anticipated then let him sign with us for less or walk (he'd walk). I'm fine with it.
Gogi doesn't deserve the max, but I may just have to give it to him if he demands it. 60/4 or or 70/5 is more suitable. If Dragic doesn't get traded here then the Rockets will likely not obtain Dragic through free agency. Actually, this year may be the perfect year to give someone who doesn't deserve the max the max. Seeing as the cap is said to rise. 30 percent of this off season wont be the same as 30 percent of next off season.
i think at the end of the day, the Pels pick is the best the Suns are gonna get for a half a season Dragic rental. We had the same situation a few years ago, but the momentum was actually working for us; we were playing our best ball making that playoff push and we chose to just ride it out. The Suns are not in that situation. They're not playing good ball right now. I don't see them making the mistake we did with Dragic and letting him walk for nothing. If you can get a late lotto pick for Dragic, you pull the trigger. The only reservation i have from a Rockets standpoint is that i don;t think we are contenders without Dwight and if Dwight doesn't make it back in time for the playoffs, what good does having a few months of Dragic do? We still won't be contenders. For Dragic to make sense for Houston, we have to be planning to be at full strength for our playoff push. Because we are not gonna be able to compete with what other teams can this off-season; so spending a 1st pick needs to put us in contending status or it's a waste.
