Guess who the one 6 seed was? This is why "Clutch City" will never be forgotten around here. What that team did at that playoff seeding may never be duplicated ever again in the NBA.

I hope they do. I want the best matchups as a fan.

Besides, we've played better against the Thunder than the Warriors this year. So if they can beat the Warriors that would be fine with me.

Whoever comes out of the West is getting 3 tough series any ways.

I somewhat knew that. But I didn't know it was so pronounced. I guess I'll be hoping the rockets can pull through with a 2nd or 3rd seed this season.

Westbrook would have Thompson and curry wore out after a series that is for sure. Or if the thunder won it would be vice versa.

Well in the context that it was given, it was accurate.

Ain't no way in hell the Bulls or Cavs are taking this year's championship.

Man, it's pretty cool that we were the one 6 seed... but it's also sobering that if we don't get up to the 3 seed, history is against us :(

That playoff run was a thing of beauty. The team just kept getting better and better.

It's really unbelievable that it is never talked about.

The Rockets beat the #3 (Karl Malone), #2 (Charles Barkley), #1 (David Robinson) seeds to get to the finals.

Then went on to beat the Magic, the #1 seed in the East, whom beat Jordan and the Bulls to get there.

That 94-95 Rockets team was a very special case in a lot of ways.

For one that team was a already a champion, secondly they added an all-star level talent midseason. Lastly, as this sites name implies, those Rockets teams had an incomprehensible ability to avoid elimination.

If a team goes through an 82 game season and only ends up with the 6th best record they aren't winning a title barring strange circumstances. There are 2 teams that could do it this year though. The Thunder and Spurs are both playoff proven, and have injured players , but both can be healthy come playoff time and win it all.

That's looks dramatic versus other sports as well as the NCAA bball. But we always talk about how many rings MJ and Kobe and Duncan have won. NBA is a superstar league. MJ won 6 of those 20, all as #1 seed. Kobe won five of those (three with Shaq), all as #1 seed. Duncan won 4 as a #1 seed.

Three players account for 15 of the 20 wins by #1 seeds.

And remember, we've been showing the stat that the league MVP has always been on a #1 or #2 team every year during that current format, except MJ's first MVP (#3 seed).
